Fantasynth One

Fantasynth One is a very short VR experience that is basically built around music, movement and visuals rather than traditional gameplay. I am placed inside a colourful abstract world and glide through it while the environment reacts to the electronic music playing around me. There are no enemies to fight, no puzzles to solve and no real objectives to worry about. It is more like stepping into a music video and being able to move through it myself. That simple idea works surprisingly well when I just want something relaxing and visually interesting. The visuals are easily the strongest part for me. The world is filled with glowing shapes, strange structures and constantly changing colours, and everything moves in time with the music. Because the environment is procedurally populated, the experience feels like it is constantly flowing forward instead of taking me through a normal set of levels. I like how the scenery and music work together because neither one feels completely separate from the other. The whole thing has a very futuristic feeling that suits VR extremely well.
