Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn

Overall a decent game. Gameplay is fun, story/world is alright, game itself was stable. It has the souls-like gameplay but I feel like comparing this to a souls game is like comparing Avowed to Skyrim. I took my time with the story, exploring a lot and collecting everything I can. Still working on it, but pretty much have the game wrapped up with 12 hours on the board, which I am liking because I want more games where I can pick it up, experience it, then feel like I can move on without leaving anything behind.

fun, short, with cool combat mechanics and very interesting world building. i wish there was a bit more story but am also happy that it doesnt try to be an 80+ hour game.

Love the combat, traversal, enki, and the views you can catch. its a good between aaa games game for sure .has a decent amount to do but not too much where it feels like filler fluff

OLD REVIEW: This is a good game. Not the best combat, exploration, pacing, or writing, and performance is not spectacular tbh, but it's does well enough in all those areas that I'm having a good time. NEW REVIEW: Now that I've finished the game, it's much better than people are giving it credit for. Yes, it sucks that the back third of the game is the most interesting (this applies to the story and world), but the boss fights are really fun and interesting! Not the most challenging, but the spectacle and mechanics are there! The combat is actually pretty great! Yes, when fighting crowds, your main attack means are insufficient, but there are upgrades and items to help combat that. There were very minor bugs, but nothing too crazy. The story may be the biggest part that's lacking. It's good at the start, drags a lot through the middle, but really REALLY picks up at the end. I really feel this game punches well above its weight. There's some great voice acting here, as well! If the game had a shorter runtime 15-18 ish hours instead of the 23 it took me (main game and all side quests, I believe) it would have benefited greatly, but I still think this was a really good experience!…
