About Forgotten Spirits
Forgotten Spirits is a short family-friendly Puzzle Adventure game in a 2D Side-Scroller fashion. But there's a twist: Wherever the ground is marked, you may switch the layer you're walking on - between foreground and background - for an extra dimension of puzzle-solving.
Experience a visual narrative telling the story of two companions that traverse an abandoned world. Of a place that has been deserted long ago, and protagonists freeing the spirits that have been left behind. Discover unique abilities and use them to unveil mysteries; alone or together with a friend.
Oh, and there are fragments of spirits hidden in all nooks and crannies. Can you find them all?
Forgotten Spirits' audio design has been awarded and contributes to the games' distinct atmosphere. Its original soundtrack has been composed by Sam Shandley, and the game itself was built from the bottom up by a small team of students in Norway. Thank you all for playing!

Very nice, charming, and gorgeous puzzle-adventure game. Short, but definitely enjoyed the time I spent with it and enjoyed the puzzles, environments, and music.2 found this helpful
Very short game, but for $10, decent value. Would love to see this game expanded on in the future. The music is very pleasant and I enjoy the primitive art style. Would recommend a console controller over mouse and keyboard for this one.1 found this helpful
[i] My Experience [/i] While I often see Steam users complaining about the price to length ratio of games on the platform, I usually side with the developer. As an adult working full-time I have less time than ever to play games, and I don't love it when games feel artificially padded with repetitive or dull content. However, upon finishing [b]Forgotten Spirits[/b] I remarked to my co-op partner, "Wow, that was it?" We finished the game in 30 minutes. Luckily, I had bought the game on sale for 50% off ($5), which made the short length a little more palatable. However, the game still felt a little expensive for what it is. We did enjoy what we played, though. I liked the "construction paper" art style that the game uses, and the asymmetric nature of the co-op (many tasks can only be performed by one of the two characters). Lastly, I liked the concept of switching characters from foreground to background and back again in order to solve puzzles and make progress. We found some of the secrets hidden within the levels, but I'm sure that there were more to find - we aren't typically completionists. Cute game, a little short for the $10 at base price. Fun with a friend, we beat it in under 1 hour.
