About Glitchbuster

Can you fix the game in time?
Release is coming very soon, and several glitches have been reported. Your job is to fix them in time.
Each level features a different set of glitches that will affect the gameplay: low gravity, water physics, larger enemies, bigger explosions... and many more (there are currently over 40 glitches implemented in the game).
In order to help you fix all these glitches, you can unlock special powers, such as a rocket launcher, a teleporter, a gravity inverter, a shotgun, as path finder... as well as a perk, which will make your job easier, for instance by reducing damage, dropping more items, giving you more health...
Picking the right powers for the right glitches can make all the difference!
Each level is procedurally generated and can be restarted if you fail, but will consume time. Its general layout will remain the same so you can learn from your mistakes.
A very early version of the game made first in the mobile category of js13k 2016, and second overall.
However, the game has changed a lot since then and the js13k entry is not representative of the final product.
The game features both keyboard and controller support.

Pretty straight forward platformer, with excellent graphics, great soundtrack, and a programming theme. I am using a xbox-style gamepad controller, and it is working fine. Some technical issues running on ubuntu linux 16.04... I have no problem on an older computer with intel graphic drivers, but with a computer with a new AMD card and radeon mesa drivers, this is unplayable. For some strange reason, the platforms do not appear in the game levels. Another small thing is that the password keychain app came up when the game started. Not sure what was happening there.12 found this helpful
General
Glitchbuster is a fun little game that'll keep you on your toes with the glitches thrown at you in levels. The right powerups for me were Shockwave accompanied by either Double Jump or More Powerful Powerups. This game could use a Survival mode ;) Pros:

Variety of glitches to have fun with in the level
Lots of power-up combinations to explore within levels
Glitch effects while playing
Cons:

Shortsighted glitch, y doe? This is a really good game. You have to complete your bug-free game by release day which requires fixing some buggy code packages. Every "package" (i.e. stage) contains several "files" (i.e. levels) that have bugs which must be found and fixed. You need to avoid obstacles like enemies and spikes along the way, as well as surviving against the package's glitches. Each package has a set of glitches across all the files which change characteristics of the world (such as enemy size doubling or low gravity). As well as finding the bug in each level, there are also secondary objectives to be found that let you play a fun mini-game for a chance to permanently remove a glitch from the package to make those levels a bit easier. There's also glitches that you can find along the way to collect and use for yourself as a special move to help beat the level (such as jetpacks or inverting gravity). If you have a tough time or don't like the glitches for a particular package, you can refactor it which re-assigns a new random set of glitches to the package at the cost of losing deadline time. I've been having a lot of fun with it. The gradual build-up of difficulty on each package feels great an…6 found this helpful

10/10 fun factor. A great indie game to play when you want something with a fun meta to how the game works definetely unique compared to most indie games I've played and the developer is an awesome person too!
The game is well made, enjoyable. When playing the game there are many ways of completing the game... I hugely recomend this game. (there are also some "programing" jokes thrown in there to!) - surprisingly replayable - Must I come back to replay this game more!
