Gunbrella

It's not terrible, but if you asked me if I would have advised my younger self to buy it now that I have played it through, the answer would be a soft "no". First and foremost, don't use a controller to play this game. Technically it works fine, but the levels and bosses were clearly designed for keyboard and mouse, using a controller made it more difficult than intended I think. (I still played through with a controller, because my cats don't let me game with a keyboard) The mechanics are serviceable, but felt a little unpolished. Whether the umbrella could be used as a shield or just as a parry seemed to depend on the enemy, and I felt like I never knew which it was whenever I saw something new. Swapping between ammo in the middle of a fight was clunky and a bit dangerous, locking me into the basic ammo I didn't always want to use. The platforming and movement is not particularly fast or fluid, which makes perfect sense for a protagonist that's just an old guy seeking revenge, but the levels and the bosses seemed designed to showcase a more fluid and acrobatic move-set. It follows our protagonist as he slugs through heaps of enemies and ultimately aims to defeat the evil blood cult "Cult-45". Not the longest game, but I enjoyed my experience thru it. The movement tech is quite fun and you can go woosh. The story is not necessarily the most interesting, but some of the characters and moments were funny which I enjoyed. I *think* the boss fights could've been a bit more challenging.

this game is amazing the gameplay and story are top notch and the artstyle is amazing if you havent played this gem do it its well worth it

I love the game visuals, plot and gameplay but the controls are hell to play with as a keyboard and mouse player. The game doesn't allow you to remap the controls to a mouse. This makes playing so hard and a lot less enjoyable. Please do something about this!
