Before I get into I wanted to disclose that I was fortunate enough to be provided a review copy key for this game from the developer. He and I also ended up befriending each other as a fellow indie dev. But I digress and want to disclose that other than the game key itself I was not given any other form of compensation To the game's developer. You have my thanks and support, I'm looking forward to and hoping we can potentially work together in the future Now, onto the review Right out the gate Gunquest seems like one of those higher end flash games that you'd see from the Kongregate or Newgrounds era. Essentially Gunquest feels like a mix of the following. The fantasy setting of an RPG that almost feels like a mix of King's Quest and the original Zelda (The vibes, setting, and tone) The 2D leveling structure of Terraria with the much smaller scale/level designs of Broforce And gunplay/gameplay that feels like a MUCH more simplified approach to Revita and Dead Cell's approach to combat and gunplay. Fun adventure! Cool pixel art style, keyboard and controller support. Highly recommended.1 found this helpful
♥♥♥♥ game to bad game not fun i only die ♥♥♥♥ you and your cat.
horrible joystick controls. super twitchy and commits the sin of using "up" on the joystick to jump which makes the twitchiness even worse. If you can't bother to get the controls right, what's the point of even making a game to go with them?
no
Game is still in Early Access, but already you can see the great potential this game has and the dedication from the developer. I really enjoyed the art style and the amount of content that has been added as the development as continued. The combat is fast paced and fun, while the overworld segments lend themselves to a slower experience, balancing out the game nicely. All this combined with an interesting narrative premise makes this a great indie game to pickup.
