Immortals of Aveum™

I really wanted to like this game because it has some genuinely good qualities. The graphics are excellent, and the magic-based combat is a refreshing idea compared to the usual shooters. The world also has some nice-looking environments, and there were moments where I really appreciated the level design. Unfortunately, the game just never clicked with me. After the initial novelty wore off, it felt like I was doing the same thing over and over. The gameplay didn't evolve enough to keep me engaged, and I kept waiting for something that never came. The world itself also wasn't very interesting to explore. While some areas looked great visually, I never felt invested in the setting or its lore. The story failed to hook me from the start, and I didn't find myself caring about what was happening or where it was going. Character designs were another miss for me. I just didn't like their overall look or style, and I found it hard to connect with any of them. Overall, Immortals of Aveum isn't a bad game. its ok, not particularly good but also not bad

5 hours in and it tells me my save file "might" be corrupted, choose another save file. I don't have another save file. My game is now over. Right now I'm too mad to be objective. Can't recommend a game that does this. Maybe I will change my mind if I ever play again and it's a better experience, but for now, with this and the fact that it took 5 freaking hours to stop being a tutorial and interactive movie, I'm just done.

Terrible writing and terrible story. I have never played a single game where the humor is so horrible that I have to mock it every time I see it. Gameplay is meh. Soundtrack makes no sense for a fantasy game. So much wasted potential for a lot of the scenes.

I liked it, not sure where all the hate for it at launch was coming from. It's not the best game ever made or anything but its still a fun shooter and the story is good enough.
