About Incantation

"Incantation" is a first-person horror mystery game adapted from a movie of the same name. The game reveals the chilling story behind "Chen Village" from the movie. A mother searching for her missing daughter accidentally stumbles into a village filled with mysterious cults. Beyond the palpable madness and fear in the village, there's a sinister force that drives one to despair. What happens when one crosses the forbidden line of this evil deity?

Exploration

In this unknown and eerie environment, search for fragile clues to piece together the whereabouts of your loved one. Is all this struggle to solve the mystery, or just a desperate desire to survive?

Stealth

Danger can strike from unexpected places; be alert to everything in the village! Try to hide your movements as if you've never set foot on this land before.

Uncover the Truth

Throughout this journey, every corner, every object, every emotion you encounter will lead you closer to the truth. But, is all of this just a coincidence? Or is there a hidden agenda behind everything?

HOU-HO-XIU-YI, SI-SEI-WU-MA

Wholeheartedly offer your name. If it pleases the Mother-Buddha, maybe, just maybe, you'll find a glimmer of hope in this deadly game...

✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's atmospheric horror, engaging story, sound design, and puzzle design, with particular appreciation for its slower-paced approach that prioritizes narrative and atmosphere over constant action. Common complaints center on the stealth mechanics being tedious, limited combat options like missing a dodge button, and some finding the puzzle-solving tedious or the game feeling repetitive with too much door opening and movement between areas.

I really enjoyed this game. It has plenty of scares and interesting puzzles throughout to keep you invested in the story. The graphics are also good for an indie company. The sound design and music were also great. I'd definitely recommend you pick up this game just to try it out and support the developers because they honestly did an amazing job. Hoping we get more games like this from them in the future.

So bad

A cute little addition to the movie. Gameplay is basically RE/SH, but hardly any action, just some stealth (yuk, at least, you can just run through these parts), a couple of chases, and a single boss fight which feels a bit off without a dodge button. The story is pretty engaging and doesn't get tiring during the 5 hours that this game takes to beat. Puzzles are not overly annoying, except the last puzzle box. Overall, well worth the money.

Loved this game, definitely recommend to anyone who likes slower-paced psychological horror games. I was a little hesitant going in because I don't mind a good chase or two but I find it a bit annoying when these kind of games have an over-reliance on enemies (some find it boring without a bunch of enemies, but me- i like a good setting, story, lore etc.). I was pleasantly surprised, very creepy and the enemy encounters weren't too difficult.

The game is phenomenal honestly. The lore was incredible and I just can't expect more.
