I really enjoy VS, and I like this clone well enough. The gameplay did feel slower than VS, or maybe the monster would move faster in harder campaigns? I didn't see a tutorial, so I played the game with some logic sense because I was too lazy to read through the texts (too many!) to identify all those special keywords. Synergy? Okay, i just need to equip more of the same. Realm? Okay, I guess I just need to unlock them to equip more things. In my first playthrough, I thought I was bombed by the enemies because that arrow fire thingy was so huge that it took over my screen and I couldn't really see anything. But I paid less than a dollar for this, so I'm not complaining. I do see myself playing it again just to see what those synergies can do for a more powerful playthrough. I'd give it a 7/10.

Infinite Tao is an intriguing fusion of roguelite survival gameplay, auto-battler mechanics, and Chinese cultivation fantasy that manages to carve out its own identity within a genre crowded with similar releases. Developed and published by insomnia, the game places players on the path of an immortal cultivator seeking greater power while enduring endless waves of enemies. At first glance, its premise may resemble other survival-focused titles, but the deeper progression systems and emphasis on strategic planning help it stand apart from many of its contemporaries. The core gameplay is easy to understand. Players navigate the battlefield while attacks are executed automatically, allowing full attention to be directed toward movement, positioning, and character development. This streamlined approach lowers the barrier to entry while maintaining an engaging level of decision-making. Success is determined less by lightning-fast reflexes and more by understanding how different upgrades interact with one another. Every run presents opportunities to shape a unique build, creating a rewarding balance between accessibility and depth. What truly defines Infinite Tao is its cultivation-ins…

Surprisingly fun mix of autochess trait collection and VS-like bullet heaven gameplay. If I remember correctly, there were some small issues with the translation, but nothing too major.

Interesting bullet heaven based on spirit cultivation, but not a deep one It has a lot of build variety and synergies, though some are REALLY more effective than others. Not to mention that there's a lot of risk/reward (is it more worth to invest in more energy gathering, saving it for faster level ups, or splurging it all in items for a perfect build to keep the DPS up, it's your choice) With that said, the visuals are really simple. Barely NES sprites. Not a bad thing, but when there's a lot of stuff on screen, you really can't tell apart the number/kind/size of enemies. Also not usually a problem, but this is a HARD bullet heaven, it's really easy to die if you're not paying attention. Also, there's some issues with translation, namely some descriptions of rewards (which for a game like this, it's really bad, you're basically being kept from picking some of the rewards unless you can read chinese, since you won't know what that prize does). 7/10, needs a bit more polish and Feng Shui
