About JEI VR

About the game

WorldDynamics inc. - is the first company which created artificial intelligence capable of achieving a technological singularity. Gradually, the power and wealth of the Corporation allowed governments around the world to take control. Absolute power-corrupts absolutely.
In response to lawlessness and injustice, an underground organization Cyberion appeared. Members of the underground are trying to destroy the Corporation by organizing sabotage, undermining infrastructure and freeing people from debt camps-factories. Jei is the girl who is destined to end the dictatorship.

Road map

Gameplay

When you launch Jei VR, you will immediately find yourself in the heat of battle. Your battle zone is the crossroads of a city formerly owned by civilians and now by WorldDynamics inc.
You are surrounded and locked in a tight space with no escape.

Corporation robots will attack in waves. With each new wave, the strength of robots and their number will only increase. WorldDynamics inc. will place enemies in different locations. They can materialize in front of your face or around the corner, attacking later, causing devastating damage.

Take care of your health, because robots are strong. To take a break, you can use a shield or just hide for a while. But remember! The shield is not infinite, it has energy, so use it wisely.

You will receive a machine gun on first boot. But fighting them alone would be pretty boring. So where can you get new weapons and cartridges for the old? You just need to break the containers that remain after killing robots. Take different weapons in different hands and clear the intersection from bots by opening fire with two hands. Let's hope you unlock the entire armory.

But don't worry, you will be taught all this at the resistance training ground!

If your competitive spirit is so strong that you want to defeat not only robots, but also defeat all your friends, then welcome to Party mode, designed for 4 players.

The Resistance believes in you!
Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2
This is a small-arena 360 wave shooter with full locomotion and smooth and snap turning options. It has one map. The one map looks pretty nice but it's also pretty small and doesn't have any objects to interact with. It's all window dressing. There are 3 different guns (and a shield) and a few different robots, including a pretty big mini-boss type robot. The game feels like a demo (and is described as such by the developer in the EA description). I played this game for about 30 minutes and got to the 18th wave. I could have possibly gotten farther, but the gameplay was just too repetitive and I got really bored. I didn't want to continue playing. The gun mechanic wasn't really good, it had an arcade feel, but didn't feel fast-paced enough and weapons lacked impact. You can see the bullets bend as you move while firing. The AI for the robots was also pretty dumb, you can basically corner them and they lose sight of you. Game is running on the Unreal Engine. I did notice some frame rate drops, but I lowered the graphics settings from ultra to high and it seemed to be running fine after that. I did not experience any serious issues or bug…

JEI VR is very much a budget version of Robo-Recall, only if that said budget was less than the price of a Big-Mac meal. But I feel I am being a tad harsh there because the small city landscape you get to play in looks OK as do the Robo-Recall inspired robots. With just 3 main guns (all of which you can dual-wield) and a small handful of enemy robots, this goes doesn't offer a lot at all. But what it does offer is a small amount of mindless shooting in a nice sci-fi environment. Sure, there isn't a lot to this game at all, but it only costs £3.99 and is currently on sale for just £3.19! You should just about get your money's worth here, but do remember that you are not paying a lot in the first place.

It's a fairly fun game. For $5, it would be worth having in your steam library.
