K Station

I've played many adventure games over the years, and this one's perplexing. The presentation is great, the music is nice, and I love the retro text parser interface. It's also free, so no reason not to give it a try! But oh boy, this genuinely has some of the worst puzzles I've ever encountered in a game -- half the time it's just a case of asking everyone about everyone else in the hopes of progressing, and the other half repeating the same tediuous "solution" multiple times until something happens. I ended up reaching for a walkthrough after the first few days just to see the ending and it was, to say the least, a tremendous letdown. I hope the devs go on to make future games, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE hire someone to design the puzzles. Anyone.

"K Station" is largely the plot of the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Remember Me" where Beverly Crusher is trapped in an anomaly where everyone she knows starts disappearing. So, real creative stuff here. It's a basic point and click adventure (presumably slapped together with Adventure Game Studio or similar construction kit so the "developer" didn't have to do any game development). It's got some pretty ugly pixelcrap "art". What do you do in the game? The story centers on the strange disappearance of people on a space station in the year 2319. You take on the role of a lab assistant trying to uncover the mystery. It's more e-book than real game, just waves of poorly written, sometimes cringey dialog. As always, developers must learn the axiom of "show, don't tell". Not only is all this badly written, it's dead boring, too. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. Игра "K Station" предлагает атмосферный симулятор управления станцией в космосе. Управление интуитивное, но требует времени на освоение. Графика качественная, а сюжет развивается через диалоги и исследование. Минус — небольшой выбор заданий и повторяющийся геймплей. Подойдет фанатам спокойных стратегий.
