actually an improvement to cave story on all fronts............ except scope, which means it tragically never got the same attention. a very tiny, lovely balanced game, a tour de force that does not allow you to think daisuke amaya is anything other than a genius. because it's so simple that it's impossible not to understand how good it all is. there's something really nice about that, how you could easily study it and catch all that it does right to use as an example it's not really a game to get attached to, though............ there's nothing wrong with the characters they're just as well executed as everything else but i don't think you will fall in love with them. except maybe the president she's a sweetheart that talks in squiggles
Really fun and replayable game with all the skills and chops of the creator and designer of Cave Story. Solid running and gunning with a few extra modes to add a twist on a replay.

A great game. It's beautifully balanced, fun and packed wIth charm, I just wish there was a sequal.
