About Kingpin: Reloaded

Welcome to Kingpin: Reloaded

In a stylized noir art deco gangland that never was, the Kingpin rules above all else with a bloody fist. When his lieutenant Nikki Blanco leaves a no-name thug battered and broken, the upstart criminal rises from a puddle of blood pipe in hand and revenge in mind.

Kingpin: Reloaded brings new life to the Quake II engine classic. 4K resolution and improved graphics in Enhanced mode enable the beautifully-depicted metropolitan nightmare to shine. Controller support makes the game more accessible for anyone wanting to explore the depths of Kingpin’s depravity. Improvements like new quest and conversation systems make Reloaded even better than the original.

Stalk lamp-lit streets and take down rival gangs to let the Kingpin know his end is nigh. Kingpin’s immersive sim elements allow you to recruit other gangsters and increase your influence through multiple hub-based missions. Run with the gang on a violent warpath with upgradeable weapons. Location-based damage leads to bloody, thrilling battles: kneecap, maim, or go for the head.

Kingpin: Reloaded includes a range of new features:

- Re-balanced and Polished gameplay
- New Quest System
- Ultrawide and 4k Support
- Classic and Enhanced modes

And so much more!

Here are the differences: - Subtitles now appear also in cutscenes and are centered in the middle of the screen in a more modern style. Can be adjusted, so it's great. In the Original you only have captions for NPC which appear in the top left corner of the screen - Textures are improved slightly, keeping the aspect of the original. There is an enhanced option setting where you can toggle new or original skybox, which I thought is a nice touch. Also bloom options and other lighting settings. - You can change between Enhanced and Original graphics by pressing a key (default 9) - There is better volumetric lighting (fixed now) and shadows Cons: - I do not like the new blood. I noticed this as a tendency with modern games, the blood is not looking real anymore, but more like a sauce. There is an option to set the intensity, ironically the default setting is actually called Tomato Sauce. I set this to the Bloodbath setting which made it look a bit more closer to blood, but the effect is a bit too much. The running NPC will leave trails and trails of blood all over the place which is persistent. - If you fight an NPC and they run all over the place spreading blood on the floor, …

Do not recommend this remaster. The graphics looks like from 2000 and it works way worse than the original game. Game freezes while quick loading, my bodyguards gets stuck behind me repeatedly and I was able to go for a gun in the bar and started a shootout. The only element I like are achievements. I am not surprised 37% here on Steam and have to admit this is very lousy remaster to be honest! --- 3/10
