The death of Typhus the World-Breaker brought peace to the world of Ambrose--temporarily.
Three months after the events of Knight Bewitched, mercenaries Rae and Alex are hired by the Deepforge Expedition to explore the ruins of an ancient Halonian temple. Beneath the temple is an entrance to the Ambrose Underworld and the expedition's target, the lost fortress Deepforge I.
Though Deepforge I is successfully reclaimed, questions arise after the discovery of a mysterious cult embedded within the expedition. Now Rae and Alex, alongside heroes Ruth, Gwen and other allies, must investigate and discover the truth behind the cult and the Deepforge Expedition before it's too late.
Knight Bewitched 2 is a stand-alone game, but it helps to have played the first Knight Bewitched for context and character backstory. Knight Bewitched 2 is the second entry in the Knights of Ambrose Saga.

Knight Bewitched 2, developed and published by Joshua Keith, is a heartfelt indie role-playing game that continues the story of the first Knight Bewitched while standing well enough on its own as a complete narrative experience. Set in the same medieval fantasy world of Ambrose, it carries forward the charm, character-driven storytelling, and classical turn-based structure that define Joshua Keith’s games. From the very beginning, it’s clear that this sequel aims to refine rather than reinvent, expanding upon the foundation of the original while tightening its mechanics, deepening its lore, and improving pacing. It’s a throwback to traditional 16-bit JRPGs with a focus on straightforward design and character emotion, the kind of game that prioritizes narrative sincerity over flashy production values. The story unfolds a few months after the events of the first game, following mercenaries Rae and Alex as they embark on an expedition to explore the ruins of an ancient temple. What begins as a simple commission quickly spirals into a much larger mystery when they uncover a secret cult operating within the ruins, intent on resurrecting an ancient power that could threaten the world of…1 found this helpful
While I prefer the story of previous game, KB2 was a fun continuation. Short and sweet, taking ~7-8hrs needed to beat + 100% and leaves you wishing it were longer. Gameplay is simplistic, with the ability to swap combat difficulty while in game via options. Side quests lead you to interesting interactions with side characters that add a bit of charm to the game's universe. KB1 + 2 has me invested in the Knights Ambrose series, its just a shame I'm incredibly late to this party.
Knight Bewitched 2 is a decent enough continuation to the first game, a pretty enjoyable experience all in all. It's come to my attention that the Enhanced remake of the first one was made a couple years after this sequel, so that explained why playing them in quick succession like this felt a little jarring to me. The combat wasn't as tightly strategic, and the absence of some quality of life things (diagonal movement, easier menuing to name a couple) was hard to ignore sometimes, but that's really only an apparent problem when playing one after the other. Regardless, I think this game stands on its own well enough. I said the combat isn't as deep, but it's still pretty enjoyable. Character abilities remain impactful and interesting, with each character serving a specific and well-designed role, and the option to switch the party around with new additions to the cast is cool (i didn't really feel a need to change the party comp at all during the playthrough, sticking with Rae, Alex, Ruth and Gwen, but the added freedom is most definitely a positive); there's still a fair bit of strategy to it, once again using buffs and debuffs and so on is still an important part of the game, at…
Good game in this series, this was. This dev does a fantastic job creating rpg games. I highly recommend playing any or better yet, all of his games.
I had fun with Knight Bewitched and, though the story was pretty short and I'm certain I beat the main game and about half of the side content in about 7 hours, it does feature a post-credits scene that sets up another big bad guy, so I figured I'd give this one try to finish the duology. I like that the main characters are no longer Ruth and Gwen and their companions, and instead we focus on Rae and Alex, the mercs you ran into a couple of times in the first game, but with a fair amount of new characters and familiar faces returning from the previous game, including Uno and Stray, Gwen's sister Malady, Hermes the priest and a few more. I enjoyed the experience and, though this one does seem a bit less polished that the first entry, it's mostly because this in the original and not an enhanced version, and it still resembles it a lot in most respects. I liked that it has a quest log, that there's more side quests and cut-scenes that pop up when you visit certain places, and that the story from the first one is alluded to and even expanded upon in some respects. And it also ends with a post-credits scene setting up a sequel, so I'm waiting for Part 3 to come out, if it ever does.
This was another satisfying adventure in the Ambrose saga, if you enjoyed the first game you'll likely enjoy this one as well. It's not quite as long as the first game but in addition to the original cast of characters several new ones join in too, allowing for even greater variation of party tactics and damage approaches. There are also some old plot threads that are resolved in a satisfying way, and the occasional funny line that can make you chuckle. The story is definitely shorter here and I wish we got a little bit more interesting interactions with the new additions to the group, and I also found Alex to be a bit grating at times, though eventually she did grow on me somewhat. Rae as the stoic barbarian warrior was actually a cool and welcome addition to the roster. If you like old school JRPG games I highly recommend both Knight Bewitched and the sequel, they're very fun games even if the occasional combat mechanic is a bit irritating or the writing can be slightly stiff in places, they're excellent to get lost in for a solid 20-40 hours and are filled with lots of sidequests with nice artwork and solid musical score.
