About Let Them Come: Onslaught

Brace yourself for a relentless roguelike alien assault in Let Them Come: Onslaught, where bullet heaven gameplay collides with the gritty spirit of retro sci-fi classics. Create the perfect build from an arsenal of over-the-top weapons and explosive upgrades, shredding alien hordes in a display of retro-fueled chaos. If you’re seeking a survivors-like experience with an 80s sci-fi action vibe, set to the pulsing beat of a soundtrack by Cartridge 87, this game sets itself apart from the pack.

Multiple weapon unlocks

Unleash your inner action hero with weapons straight out of your favorite sci-fi flick, from flamethrowers to Photon Sabers and more. You can even nuke the site from orbit - it’s the only way to be sure. Each weapon brings a distinct playstyle, and upgrades let you stack up devastating combos. Whether you prefer crowd-clearing firepower, targeted precision, or life-saving shields, you can tailor your loadout for maximum carnage (and maximum style).

Deep replayability

No two runs are ever the same. Between battles, build craft and invest your hard-earned rewards to unlock and enhance new skills, refine your strategy, and push deeper into enemy territory. Experimentation is key—try different weapon synergies, combine special effects, and perfect your approach until your unstoppable build leaves nothing but alien rubble in its wake.

Wave survival action

As the alien onslaught intensifies, your reflexes and tactics are put to the test. Survive long enough, and you’ll face towering bosses that demand every ounce of skill you’ve honed. It’s the ultimate showdown, straight from the adrenaline-drenched heyday of retro sci-fi action. Gear up, lock ‘n load, and get ready to Let Them Come, because the Onslaught is about to begin!

Battle across worlds

Fight your way through four distinct environments. The map always changes, and many dynamic elements will challenge the player during runs. Special mini bosses that spawn when you don't expect them. Supply drops with helpful loot will spawn in the distance. And Random Missions will force the player to complete optional objectives if they want to reap the reward.
  • Fast-paced bullet heaven combat
  • Deep roguelite progression and build crafting
  • Procedural maps and dynamic events
  • Original synth wave soundtrack by Cartridge 87
  • Two playable characters: The Soldier and The Psychic
  • 4 distinct worlds and epic boss encounters
How long can you survive the Onslaught?

A very fine game, when you factor price it becomes a great game. It is a vampire like, but the balance is a bit wonky compared to the other. After 5h I complete normal mode on all 4 maps, even after maxing a lot of the progression tree I still felt valunable, which is a plus in my book. Got my stamp of approval.

Pretty fun. Good entry to the genre.

Received as a gift from a friend. Technically, a vast improvement over Let Them Come. The growth of the devs themselves is probably the most impressive thing here. The genre shift is an odd but not unwelcomed choice, and Onslaught itself is a decent little bullet heaven, if a bit barebones. You'll run out of content after roughly 7-10hrs, which isn't too big a deal given the price, but I can understand why some people find it lacking. If there are any major cons, it's that the devs chose to play it safe and there are no real shake-ups that set it apart from its peers. I will give some kudos for that transition screen, though. If you grab it, do so during a sale.

A great game worthy of its modest price tag, a Vampire Survivors clone that gets the damage scale correct and makes you want to return to play it again and again. On top of all this, the developers are fantastic. I posted a bug with their latest update, and they pushed a patch within the hour. That’s worthy of praise. So I am going to complain about it for the rest of this review. It’s so frustrating when games get this close to perfection. The hit detection on one’s character is not accurate; let’s get that out of the way. Second, and more importantly, the initial meta-upgrades are useful. Literally 90% of the rest are so situational, you can invest thousands of credits for something that may never activate during a run. I mean, you got the Vampire Survivors formula so well done and forget that the meta-upgrades are literally the draw for the game. And like literally every game in this genre, the playable characters are horrifically unbalanced, with one character clearly more powerful than all the others. Add to that the game’s insane difficulty curve. I have bought every upgrade. I can purchase the three consumable buffs. Normal and Hard difficulties are cakewalks. Onslaught …

To say I only have just over an hour in this game I already believe this will quickly become one of my favourite rogue survivor games! The gameplay is tough but forgiving all the while keeping things interesting. You are rewarded for trying new strategies as well as tried and true loudouts giving complete freedom. Overall this game truly is worth the buy!
