Let Them Come

I really liked this game a lot! As a rogue lite shooter, I'd say it does things very well! At first I wasn't so sure how to use the upgrade page and how to swap things out but after playing for a sec I picked it up fast. I really like how you can upgrade all of your passives (A MUST) (I made my MG shoot faster, have better cooling, more health and the Power Suit) and they really do help in the long run. The bosses are very well put together and aren't too hard to learn to defeat, the only boss I didn't like was the very first boss(didn't care for how he worked) but the rest were very interesting and diverse. I really like as well how the last boss we designed as well but I won't spoil anything. If you're looking for a great shooter with some good hours to put into it then this is the game for you! There is also a New Game Plus mode that I'm going to try next so we shall see what that holds! Do you hear the them? LET THEM COME!!!

Great game, but if you make a mistake, it’s really easy to get softlocked, which beats the purpose of the game, and that is to die repeatedly. Softlocks happen in such a dumb way that it’s impossible to guess beforehand. If this wasn’t the case, I would recommend this game.

Recommended Let Them Come did not grab me immediately. At first, I thought I understood it: sit still, shoot aliens, keep the screen clear. Simple enough. Then the game started asking more of me. This is a fast-paced pixel-art shoot ’em up about surviving wave after wave of alien creatures, with loadout customization, tactical enemy patterns, and boss fights that demand more than just holding the trigger down. Once it gets going, it gets really fun. The rhythm of clearing the screen, managing threats, and chaining the right tools together gives the game a surprisingly tactical bite. What I like most is that it rewards precision and smart combos. You can brute-force the regular waves for a while by keeping the screen clean, but the bosses are where the game stops letting you autopilot. You have to pay attention. You have to learn patterns. You have to actually respect what is happening in front of you. That said: I hated the second boss. Not in a cute “haha this is tough” way. More in the “alright, we are doing this now, apparently” way. It felt like the point where the game’s demands jumped harder than I expected, and I had to decide whether I was willing to meet it there. …

I really wanted to like this cause I was looking for a casual/short turn your brain off type of game, but this required basically zero braincells. Basically boils down to hold down LMB and buy a few upgrades.

Took my infinite ammo and didnt give it back. Impossible to win a boos with a game like this!
