Long Live Caesar

You're supposed to find three people who plot against you in seven days, or be killed. To find out who they are, you have the help of four agents who travel to collect clues. The problem with clues is that they don't work, meaning, the game is unfinished and when you click on a suspect with a green dot--that is when a new clue has been found--the only thing in the clue are two attributes that describe the character. There is also a subtitle in the character bio called "Claims that", and I expected this to be filled in as part of the clue. It hasn't, I don't know if it's supposed to fill in at a later stage in the game, and I received no replies to my question on the game's forum. There are other game features, such as building, recruiting troops with gold, and repulse invasions, but they don't matter since you can't work out the clues. So how come the game received so many positive reviews then? Well, it's a bit of a mystery, but it seems that these reviews compliment the game without addressing the game mechanics, and what makes it a good game, so I have a funny feeling about them.

Russian friend recommended me this game, saying it wipes the floor with all the Paradox games and is peak court intrigue simulator. What sold me the game, though, is the bizarre development story - apparently one of the developers was criminally convicted for glorifying terrorism and was coerced into inhaling inmate farts in prison. At that point I knew I couldn't miss this one. Unfortunately, this feels like an attempt at making a functional game, instead of a fun and engaging one. It works, it has an ending and it imitates gameplay quite well. It is indeed a game. Not a fun or interesting, though. Maybe if it was one of the no-name Miniclip dot com flash games from early 2000s it could become a classic. Obviously it cant compare to actual strategy games. Outside of okay visual style and alright soundtrack, I fail to understand who can find this engaging enough to justify even the tiny price it costs.

Interesting, replayable, creative. I recommend it.

Amazing game! Throughly enjoyed playing and re-playing. It would be amazing to see the mistakes you have made after the execution, but otherwise is super fun.

Fun little game - short enough that I didn't feel like I was overcommitted, with enough fun elements that I was entertained. Worth a few replays for sure.
