Lord Democrat Strikes Out!

Lucky me gets to write the first review for Lord Democrat Strikes Out!. Sigh. Lord Democrat Strikes Out! is a politically influenced 2D retro pixel RPG where you control a baseball player who must fight various Democrat enemies. Topically, I don't believe it's appropriate to try to use video games as a platform for political expression. Video games should be seen as a leisure tool to escape the sometimes unpleasant realities of life, so trying to bring that into gaming is a disservice to the industry. That aside, this game must be judged on the content of its character, and that's not good. While some thought went into game design, with RPG elements, inventory management and RPG combat combined with a lengthy story, the implementation is terrible. There's no full screen mode. The ugly retro pixel graphics are lazy and jarring, they don't resemble the graphics that limited developers in the 1990's, they just look bad. The game interface and gameplay are on par with the graphics... also terrible.
