Ai art all over the place, ai voice acting as well possibly other influences in the story that the dev failed to mention on the steam page just look at the achievements to see what I am talking about. I understand this is a solo dev but honestly maybe using 1 or 2 pieces of art instead of having them randomly scattered throughout the areas is honestly ridicules. Some of the art used is very corny, no clue what they where thinking when adding it into the game it does not create atmosphere; It is just bizarre seeing they way they implemented it like the developer generated a bunch of pictures and just slapped them on anything and everything with no context what so ever. The puzzle aspects are neat but that is the only highlight the game has so take that of what you will, some gameplay elements like the ghost are so pointless like the ghost chasing you which creates no tension to which you will only encounter a max of 5 times is more a annoyance than a difficulty curve or having to place candles to reduce your stress meter and the candles respawn infinitely after 1 minute so its just creates wasted time standing around. Lost Alone Ultimate, developed and published by Daniele Doesn’t Matter under Doesn’t Matter Games, is a first-person psychological horror title that leans heavily into narrative and atmosphere while blending in light survival elements. Designed as an expanded and more cohesive version of earlier entries in the series, it aims to deliver a more complete experience by tying together its themes of trauma, guilt, and psychological decay. Rather than focusing purely on scares, the game attempts to immerse players in the fractured mind of its protagonist, using both environmental design and storytelling to create a sense of unease that lingers throughout the journey. The story follows George, a man burdened by personal demons and a troubled past that slowly unfolds as players progress. Much of the narrative is delivered indirectly, through notes, environmental clues, and subtle visual cues that hint at deeper emotional struggles. The game avoids straightforward exposition, instead encouraging players to interpret what they see and piece together the underlying story themselves. This approach gives the narrative a layered quality, but it also requires patience, as key details can be easy…1 found this helpful
The number of bugs I encountered even before I started moving in this game makes me wanna refund it. When you play it on a gamepad, 40% of the UI uses an xbox layout, another 40% has a playstation layout, and the remaining 20% has a keyboard layout, so I had no idea what button should I press. After pressing "Apply" in the settings the game just applies whatever it wants randomly, not the setting I chose. AI voice is so annoying, I can't be scared or immersed in the story while listening to this voice that has no emotion, I would rather just read.
There were good parts to the game, but with the AI slop abound on the walls, it CANNOT be given a good review. The sound design and general ambiance of the first chapter was excellent: it kept us on our toes and scared us many times. The second and third chapters not as well, but that was definitely not helped by the slop. Remove the AI and the game was decent. Steam also needs to say this has AI. We saw comments saying it had AI but, as Steam itself did not have the disclaimer we were unsure until we were playing. Again, for a solo developer, the horror vibes were spot on, especially in the first part. But in order to make it a good game, he needs to use proper assets.
Fist things first: This is an updated Trilogy of the previous Lost Alone Games. So the main plot is the same except the game has been massively updated. For a one man Project this game is really fun. Quite a few nods to pop culture. The game itself has a predictable game mechanic whic is a good case. Explore as long as you have power. Keep candles on when the power stops and try to restore it ASAP while continuing with the plot. Sure... Everything has been in a budget. That means narrative is limited to one Actor and i get the impression the actor also is a Text to Speech Model but it´s there for each language. German - my native language is stable enough to follow. And the main character still sounds believable enough. It doesn´t ruin the game. It isn´t perfect but entertained me. You can support this one without being worried too much.
Hands down one of the worst horror games I have played in my entire life, it was so bad that I'm gonna give it a positive review because it impressed me how bad it was
