Lunyatic Invaders

Lunyatic Invaders is a silly looking cat themed vertical shmup. Just one stage with a boss and a game length of only a few minutes. It does offer a decent challenge with proper bullet patterns to dodge. Leaderboard and achievements.

Actually really good. It's a fairly meownimalistic shoot 'em up with a purrprising amount of challenge. There is only one stage (with a boss), and a run only takes a couple of meownites. It's not random at all, so it's only a meowtter of learning the enemy patterns, and then cleaning out the litter box. There is a leadpurrboard for the score chasers, and achievements for all of you purrfectionists out there. If you like shmups and have a few minutes, this one is a fun time. Meow.

Lunyatic Invaders is a small top down shoot em up that keeps things pretty simple. I am flying a super fighter through waves of enemies while trying to survive a constant stream of bullets. The strange part is that one of the things attacking me is a cat from outer space, which gives the whole game a silly little identity. It is clearly going for an old arcade feeling rather than a big modern shooter, and I think that works well for such a small game. The shooting is the main reason I enjoyed it. I have to keep moving while watching the enemy patterns and finding safe spaces between the bullets. The game can get pretty busy on screen, so I cannot just hold the fire button and ignore everything else. I need to pay attention to where I am moving and when I should take a more aggressive position. I like that because the challenge comes from actually controlling my ship rather than dealing with a big collection of menus or upgrade systems. The arcade style also gives it a nice focus. There is no huge story to get through and no complicated character progression that takes me away from the action. I can start a run, shoot enemies, try to stay alive and see how far I can get.
