Looooooove the game. It's exactly what you want when you buy a small cozy game, you play at your own speed without any punishment. Perfect for a relaxing offline evening (what I did haha)

Imagine going to the dollar store and then being impressed with what you bought. "Magical Greenhouse" is a small scale cozy game operating under one simple premise: You're a witch and you have a greenhouse. It's not a great game, but it doesn't have to be. I put video game value at $1 per hour; if your game has the stones to charge $60, then I should expect at least that many hours out of enjoyment out of it. Conversely, a $5 game that gives 7 hours worth of fun is probably worth the effort. "Magical Greenhouse" is... fine. The file size is small, the gameplay is simple, the one dimensional characters are charming at times, and the achievements are well spaced. The music is lovely, and the gameplay loop rewards experimenting with various potions recipes rather than brute forcing your way through with money optimization. Sure, the plot may overstay its welcome at the end with some arbitrary number achievement goals, but it's a bad roof on a solid house. Should people go out of their way to buy this? No. There are better management retail games out there. Should they give it a shot if they're bored and want something small enough to finish on a weekend? Yeah. On sale, waiting a …

Love the colours, the dinamics, every thing. I would love more potions and combinations, and for some of them to make more sense. It a confort and chill game to enjoy.

Magical Greenhouse is a very simple, straightforward cozy game. I recommend this game if you enjoy games where you can experiment without punishment. You can advance as quickly or as slowly as you like, and you can try to mix all the potions or you can follow the recipe guide on Steam to bypass the experimentation. I personally chose to follow the guide, as the fictional ingredients weren't intuitive to me, but maybe they would be to someone else. I enjoyed that I could open the shop as often as I liked, and the fact that the villager relationship are a bit dull, simply because that's less to think about while playing. I think this game captures the cozy genre well because it is nice to look at, there aren't punishments, and it is entirely self-paced. Some things I would add in if it were my game would be to make the maximum of any potion with the ingredients on hand, a tab in the grimoire for potions you are out of, and an option to purchase a service that waters plants and collects ingredients.
