About Morbid: The Lords of Ire

Even in defeat, the Gahars never truly die. They retreat into darkness and bide their time until the opportunity to arise again is upon them...

Morbid: The Lords of Ire is a continuation and reinvention of the critically acclaimed isometric Souls-like ARPG “Morbid: The Seven Acolytes” with the heroic Striver returning once more to do battle with horrific creatures in a dark and twisted world of pain and suffering.

Take on gruesome foes in an all-new 3D perspective. Slaughter hideous creatures using a range of vicious weapons, equipment and blessings to eviscerate everything in your path.

Building on the sanity system from Morbid: The Seven Acolytes, how you approach combat can have a dramatic impact on the world around you. Succumbing to insanity can grant incredible power, but at great personal risk, and will dynamically change how you perceive the world around you.

Battle your way through the five lands of Ire - horrific realms populated by five unique factions, from wintry mountains to rotten cities and beyond. Fulfill your sacred duty to rid the lands of the evil that has befallen them.

Cut down everything standing in your way to take on the five fearsome Lords of Ire, up the challenge by seeking out uniquely monstrous dark & powerful creatures, lurking in each level.
  • Explore diverse environments across five unique lands filled with nightmarish visions and stomach-churning creatures.
  • Experiment with different playstyles using a variety of weapon styles, runes & blessings
  • Fight to preserve your sanity, or succumb to the madness and harness it…
  • Test your skills against horrific enemies, dark monstrosities and epic boss battles with the mighty Lords of Ire.
  • Fully realise the horrors of Morbid as the series steps into a new 3D perspective.

*This review was machine translated from Korean to English. Morbid: The Lords of Ire Not Old School—Just Outdated 🚩 A Checkpoint Too Far To put it bluntly, the checkpoint placement in this game is a joke. The real issue is the malice in how they are deployed. Right before you can finally reach a breather, the game hits you with a brutal, soul-crushing encounter that acts as a literal gatekeeper. We're talking completely toxic setups: a chaotic mix of ranged and melee enemies, a large horde backing a high-tier elite, or straight-up throwing two heavy brutes into a tight space together. And the worst part? You can forget about stealth-backstabbing your way through or just sprinting past them to hit the checkpoint. The game deliberately blocks your path and forces you into a locked combat arena. It feels like a cheap, artificial way to inflate the playtime, forcing you into a tedious run-back every single time you die. 🌑 Let There Be No Light The game features a Sanity mechanic where high or low levels grant specific buffs and penalties. The problem starts when your Sanity drops into the "Madness" state. To show this mental deterioration, the environment warps into a grotesque l…

i thought it be a hack n slash, not a dark souls. this is janky. story is copy paste type ooga crap. character is mute. she looks like Gerald from witcher lol. the counter is very small and doesn't just work. finicky and if you try to counter an enemy you aren't locked onto it doesn't work so having multiple enemies is really sloppy. GOW ruined Norse mythos. i really wish someone could get it right.

It just felt like a chore to play.

The game just does not feel good to play. Movement feels simultaneously floaty and clunky, same with the combat. Your stats seem to matter little (like Impact; use a weapon with at 80, versus at weapon with 160+, and proceed to not notice a single difference). Enemies will enter hyper-armour modes seemingly at random, where you cannot stagger them unless you heavy attack. The game loves to lock you into small arenas with multiple big guys with large reach and arcs, and sometimes archers on top of this. There is also no telling you're entering into a forced arena either; sometimes you'll encounter multiple tough enemies and its normal, other times you'll encounter multiple tough enemies, and suddenly walls of blood will spring up out of nowhere and trap you in a small segment of the map. The two dodges feel woefully inadequate for anything tougher than the weakest enemies. A great reliance on parrying, which is a problem with the aforementioned forced arenas. Throw in a basic stealthing system where you sneak up on enemies to deal big backstab damage, but make almost all of those actually be gotcha-moments, where it turned out there was someone else hidden who alerts everyone, …
