I liked it. The story is simple, and so is the combat which I still quite enjoyed, quite a varied weapon selection too. The enemies all had an interesting design and even more so the bosses, who weren't too difficult to defeat, heck one thing I'll also give as point to the game is that you can abuse the AI of some not all enemies, which is a nice thing, especially to find out as you play. Speaking of enemies, there's some who I honestly thought were BS until much later finally realizing how exactly their mechanic works, but it is kinda nice that there's some enemies that take a while to learn the mechanic. (The enemy in question was the wendigo looking one with its eye attack.) For the bad, in the Aer'Abuh village map, at the very top, if you go to the left and only then go up to the edge of the map, you can continue right without the game putting you in the next map, which confused me as i had done that accidentally as I was trying to go to the next map. I found the blader but it honestly didn't feel like it was doing any more damage, especially not 60, and that became apparent when I got the rock one that does 50 damage (10 less) yet it did more damage than the bl…

Honestly, I expected bad, but this really was a hidden gem. Short game, you kind of get through it pretty quickly once you get a hang of it, but it's quite intriguing. I played too many JRPG's so I expected something after slaying the 7, but the game is quite literally in the title, so not sure why I expected that. Still, that journey was quite fun!

The gameplay is about as exciting as the pissel art, i.e., not. Said "art" is actually an issue, as poor visibility creates constant opportunities to get stuck in or blocked by indistinct obstacles. Still, first and foremost is the genre of the game: Repetition Simulator (of course advertised as an RPG, like every other game is these days.) Repetition is ensured by your Ubisoft-approved standard slop features, such as fixed checkpoints (anti-PC, anti-RPG, anti-exploration) instead of manual saves, and mobs infinite respawns (that make combat futile and the character ineffectual.) Combat itself comes with no tactics, no oomph, no flow, no aesthetics, no precision and nolition. In short, nothing worth looking at, nothing interesting to do, just clunky grind through dull backgrounds and beige sprites. With no positives to mention, the 90% discount was still a waste of money.

Game has a lot of potential, but the controls have too much of a delay on them to make it worth playing.

A potentially good game let down by horrendous controls that are impossible to rebind.

Excellent doomy atmosphere. Good levelling up and refreshingly well written text. Very happy at the price I paid, but at 85% currently, you'd be mad not to if this is even remotely your thing
