My Little Cemetery has a charming theme and cute art style that appeals to players, but it suffers from significant technical issues including poor optimization, framerate problems, glitches that trap players in menus, and unresponsive UI elements. The core gameplay loop feels incomplete and rushed, with pacing problems like days that end too quickly and slow text that frustrates rather than engages, while the abundance of cutscenes doesn't compensate for shallow mechanics and a lack of post-launch support or developer communication.
"My Little Cemetery" is kind of like someone tried to make Stardew Valley but in a cemetary.... the concept falls flat fast. What do you do in the game? You manage daily tasks like planting and beautifying the graveyard to attract various creatures, including the ghosts. The gameplay mechanics involve caring for the deceased, learning their stories, and fulfilling their requests to give them a peaceful afterlife, but none of this is implemented well at all... it's a bit of a disaster. Despite not being in Early Access this comes across as incomplete and utterly unpolished, with framerate issues and no apparent optimisation done at all. There's an overwhelming amount of mediocre Visual Novel/E-book style cutscenes in this game. The developers failed one of the most basic, fundamental requirements of game design.. "Show, don't tell." So you'll spend a huge amount of time not playing the game, but clicking through endless lines of poorly written VN text cutscenes because the developers couldn't work out how to relate their narrative through the game mechanics, and decided instead it would be better to compete with reading a book for your time. I like the theme of the game, but the control is bad, and the settings are bugged, some dialogues are authomated and fast.
The game is glitchy you can not all of a sudden leave the crafting table or open your book to see what tasks or quests you have to do.
I played for 5 mins. I couldn't get a full round around the play area before the first day was done. the volume controls do NOTHING. and the text is painfully slow. that with the lack of an update and no communication at all makes it a no for me.
I want to play this more. Its cute and its fun with interesting characters and little things to do. Unfortunately the day night cycle needs to be a lot longer or have a button that ends night manually rather than being on a timer. I enjoyed the game but some of the ui suffers from unresponsiveness. Awesome concept, cute art, interesting characters. It just needs a little polish. For a free game its a really great start and is playable but it really needs a little more love putting into it.
I have a pretty decent computer which is within the required specs but it just wouldn't load and kept crashing. The game art and screenies look cute as and I'm so disappointed I cant play ;.;
