About Neon Colony
Neon Colony
Neon Colony is a tower defense game where you develop a reasonably uninhabited planet for your kind corporate benefactors. Plan your roads, extract the planet's resources and deal with any unruly and most definitively evil aliens in a diplomatic manner.
Game features
- Build your own road! Each new road tile can be rotated and replaced as you see fit to gain full control over the planet's surface - though replacing comes at a cost.
- Discover more valuable resources further from your city, but also more dangerous enemies.
- Use your resources to power advanced towers - unless you would rather sell them for intergalactic credits, which can be used to buy one of the 100+ upgrades to your towers, city or economy.
- Deal with alien ruins and artifacts that can drastically change the nature of a run.
- Unlock and choose one of 15 governors to govern your colony, each with unique advantages and downsides.
- There is a challenge to each run, which can start with 1-4 lanes, depending on your level of greed and with 15 levels determining how hospitable the planet is.
- Easy to learn, with 5 optional tutorial levels that gradually introduce the game elements to you.
- Play as you want! Finishing a run does not require meta-progression, with all essential upgrades available from the start.

Players praise this tower defense game for its unique expanding path mechanic, engaging soundtrack, and deep strategic gameplay with 20 different characters and four upgrade categories offering varied playstyles. The balance between accessibility and challenge, along with frequent updates, keeps players coming back despite the learning curve required to master the different strategies. Some feel the core concept isn't entirely original, but most agree the execution is solid and well-worth the price for tower defense fans seeking something fresh.
Interesting venture into the Tower Defense genre - an expanding path game (in general concept not as unique as some may suggest). Notwithstanding, a multilayered game where it can take you a while to work all the ins and outs - I'm still learning. The upgrades available are large in number and it takes a while to work out which way you want to go - there are 4 general categories, and you can cherry-pick as you like Non annoying music!!! (quite interesting actually) Looking forward to what comes.2 found this helpful

Right out of the get you i got sucked in by the killer soundtrack and the unique artwork. Game, set, go! Easy to understand mechanics and layered gameplay making me going back for new waves over and over again. With 20 unique characters with all different traits this game offers a lot playstyles and content. I love the fact that i feel like i'm getting better at the game each time i play while still being challenging enough each time i play. Recommend to everyone who wants something new out of tower defence games or want to play tower defece for the first time.
Fun game, good mechanics
Fantastic tower defense game with the unique concept of placing tiles each wave to increase the map size. Loads of different strategies that are all balanced, making it very fun to play. Based on the chosen character, it also forces you sometimes to play a different strategy than your 'own', which automatically makes you explore different strategies. It is also challenging, slowly building up from relatively easy to extremely difficult. It takes some time to learn and optimize a certain strategy, which is really enjoyable! The standard of this game is similar to the classic tower defense games, like BTD, which is way I really recommend this game!
Fun game with a unique take on the tower defense genre. With the extensive options for different strategies and all the different characters to play, it keeps the game fun to come back to and try new tactics. There is a lot to enjoy for anyone who like their tower defense games, and considering the amount of hours played already i'd say it is well worth the price
