About Neonwall

NEONWALL

Travel through a world of neon, solving puzzles and overcoming obstacles. This experience requires focus, concentration, and timing to let the ball rolling as fast as you can. Remember... in a world made of neons... you will need balls to survive.

Neonwall is an innovative game that mixes the genres of puzzle and action to develop an addictive and frenetic gameplay. You do not handle the ball, you interact with it and the world around it. The objective is to take the ball to the goal avoiding the obstacles that block the way.

The way to interact in the game is with two colored lasers controlled with the joystick, the lasers can break blocks, move them and most importantly exchange the color with the neon ball. The color in Neonwall is very important! The ball moves faster, opens doors on the floor and walls of its color. Lasers only interact with elements of the same color. In short you have three colors have to be exchanged between the lasers and the ball, if done correctly and accurately victory is a possibility.

THE EXPERIENCE

The most immersive experience is with the use of a virtual reality viewer, if you do not have one, Neonwall has also been optimized to enjoy with a joystick and your monitor.

Neonwall, developed by Norain Games and published by JanduSoft, is a physics-based puzzle action game that blends reflex-driven gameplay with color-coded environmental mechanics. It presents a clean, arcade-inspired experience that focuses almost entirely on precision, timing, and spatial awareness. Rather than relying on narrative depth or character progression, the game builds its identity around mechanical challenge and a visually striking neon aesthetic. The central gameplay concept is simple in premise but demanding in execution. Players guide a rolling ball through a series of increasingly complex stages filled with obstacles, color-locked pathways, and interactive elements. Instead of directly steering the ball in a conventional manner, the player manipulates colored laser tools that influence the environment. These tools can destroy blocks, alter the ball’s color, and trigger mechanisms tied to specific hues. The interaction between the ball’s color and the environment forms the core puzzle dynamic. Matching colors allows progression, while mismatches can block pathways or alter physics behavior, requiring careful planning. Level design in Neonwall emphasizes experimentat…

Disclaimer: I've received this game for free via Curator Connect. Minimalistic but brutally challenging VR game that tests quick thinking and planning. It's engaging but too stressful for my liking. The gameplay is frantic, there is almost no downtime. The Wheel is constantly moving through the level and every few seconds you have to either switch the color of you hand and the Wheel or manipulate/shoot an obstacle. It very easy to make a mistake, while checkpoints are quite far away from each other, and there is an arcade lives system with only up to 4 checkpoint restarts before a level has to be replayed from the very beginning. Difficulty curve is very steep: after 9th level every victory felt like an impossible task and it only got harder from there. Completing later levels was very satisfying, but I still gave up around 25th out of 40 levels. Works on Reverb G2

Game is pretty good. Especially if you're looking for a low cost time killer. It's more polished than I expected from looking at the screenshots. Didn't really know what to expect but it's a fun puzzle/platformer. Feels like something that would be on the 3DS eshop.
