About NetherWorld

NetherWorld is a pixel art action-adventure narrative experience, and also a dark and decadent land full of filthy creatures.
After being abandoned by his wife, Medoo faces his disgrace going to the nearest bar to drown his sorrows in vodka. What started as a marriage crisis will soon become an unexpected, surreal and twisted journey surrounded by quirky fellow travelers.
 • STORY: Get along with cokehead mages, entrepreneur prostitutes, mobsters, sociopath kids, old perverts and more to fix the pieces of your broken life, or at least to try it.
 • MINIGAMES: Get money and items taking part in drinking competitions, having sex, shooting stuff or controlling a tick called Joe through filthy underground rogue-like dungeons.
 • BOSS FIGHTS: Time to kick some asses! Survive Fight savage bosses during your crazy adventure using all kind of guns… or unarmed!
[th] Review by Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam. [/th]
Is this game a masterpiece? No, but sometimes I like to play smaller indie games instead of the so-called AAA-stuff - especially if they're a little strange. And this is one such game. Is it an adventure or an action game? I have no idea, but I just have to check out a story about a jellyfish abandoned by his wife and a wizard who is heavily addicted to drugs. Especially when the game has a strong content warning – for adults only. Drugs, violence, perverts, alcohol... nothing is missing. But don't worry, with its pixel graphics, the game is definitely safe for work, at least graphically. At least, I think so. You play a jellyfish named Medoo. Right at the beginning of the game, your wife Clarisse leaves the house (and you). What else can you do but march straight to the village pub and knock back a few? No sooner said than done. There you meet Cubick, a magician with a slight drug problem. You are accompanied by your pet, Bozky, a flying little jellyfish. It talks to you, albeit in completely i…

Backed this game on Kickstarter years ago and it finally came out this year. After having a chance to play it, I hate to say I did not enjoy the experience. Thirty minutes of juvenile "edgy" dialogue and "story" make up the majority of the start of the game in addition to some poor combat controls when you finally get around to doing something did not a good impression make. The majority of the first thirty minutes is spent on your grumpy, down in the dumps, squid hating life life and having pointless conversations you have no part in the outcome of. You are just drug through this character's miserable existence and told to "press A" or "RT" to make him drink. That's it for about 25 minutes, then you get to fight a boss with some crummy aim and throw controls. I fought the boss a couple of times, but found the whole experience more frustrating than challenging. So, I turned it off. Perhaps not the most fair review, but if this is what the game has to offer, I have little interest in returning to it.

Fun game with a lot of varriation in its worldbuilding, boss fights, dialogues... Huomor is as espected from the game's desciption. Only point of critisism for me is the tick mini game, here I'm not too much of a fan.

bizarre adventure, strange humor. A real whole indie experience not crafted for everyone.

This game is interesting. Its fun and the story is funnier. It's adult humor and dark at times just like they said but if your not a prude you'll probably be entertained by this. Boss fights and the mini games were good as well. hope this one blows up. Also you get a bucket 10/10. also choose the white flower.
