"O Rei" is a rather badly made e-book broken up by equally badly made minigames in this "Choices barely matter" CYOA. What do you do in the game? You get to take over the king's reign and decisions, searching for one of the multiple endings and enduring crap minigames that make 1990's flash games for phones look like Black Myth Wukong. You're essentially presented with a series of repetitive, pre-determined scenarios with limited choices and even more limited "fun". This is a drudge, but it's so unengaging you'll rush to the uninstall button before anything else. For gameplay purposes, because the user interface for this game is mostly just 2D static text/images... it might as well be a web page. It's functionally no different from a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers on PC. There's an overwhelming amount of mediocre Visual Novel/E-book style cutscenes in this game, to the point this wouldn't be a game if it wasn't for the crap minigames. Игра 'O Rei' оказалась приятным сюрпризом. Изначально привлекла простая, но стильная графика, напоминающая старую школу пиксель-арта. Геймплей, хоть и незамысловатый на первый взгляд, затягивает своей динамикой и нарастающей сложностью. Приходится быстро реагировать и умело планировать свои ходы, чтобы не оказаться съеденным монстрами. Управление удобное и интуитивно понятное, что позволяет полностью сосредоточиться на происходящем на экране. Музыкальное сопровождение отлично дополняет атмосферу, создавая ощущение постоянного напряжения и опасности. Несмотря на кажущуюся простоту, игра обладает неплохой реиграбельностью. Постоянно хочется улучшить свой рекорд и открыть новых персонажей. Есть определенный шарм в преодолении все более сложных испытаний, зная, что один неверный шаг приведет к неминуемой гибели. Единственный минус - небольшое количество игровых режимов, хотелось бы больше разнообразия. В целом, 'O Rei' - это отлично сделанная аркада, которая способна увлечь на долгое время. Рекомендую всем любителям хардкорных игр с пиксельной графикой.
