“On the Earth Shift :)" is a VR resource management game / romantic experience about doing your silly alien job while your silly alien fish friend watches.
Your silly alien job is, as the title would imply, taking care of the Earth! It is your job to ensure that all aspects of Earth life flourish in perfect harmony, including global temperature, the horniess of the population, and the desire to dominate / submit to one another.
However, alien management from Glorf-31 have their own ideas on how Earth should be managed, such as Snarglarff Sneet, obsessed with extracting value from Earth, Elgore Smankoff, who wishes to perform sick experiments on the planet, and Mire Oodle, who just wants a friend, along with many others. It is your job to accept or deny their requests, as the world’s fate hangs in the balance,

-your alien superiors asking your bureaucratic permission on earth-changing decisions
-your fish friend watching you do your job but more interested in watching the blurry television behind you
-the earth outside your space ship, constantly rotating, sometimes exploding
-VR! this is a VR game!
-you have tentacles and they slap buttons
-multiple endings depending on how well you keep the earth alive and if you make it to the end of your friend's monologue
-good vibes

One of the most enjoyable VR games that I have played. The humor is pretty enjoyable, and while the gameplay is mostly just pressing one of the two buttons and reading/listening it is very much a game that I intend to play again. And it's free! So if you have a VR headset I fully recommend checking it out.2 found this helpful
"On The Earth Shift :)" is another pointless VR tech demo on Steam... this one is a trite "management" tech demo where you wave your arms (tentacles) around in VR to control aspects of the planet Earth to manage it for various alien influencers. It's largely made as a joke game and only attracted joke reviews on Steam Direct, where it failed badly for obvious reasons... chief of which would just be poor quality, amateurish technical delivery. Visually, the game looks pretty bad (and decent visuals are a must, gaming is a visual medium), we can be sure this is not an asset flip. This is because the game assets look so bad, no self respecting asset creator would publish them. That's a fail. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets of any level of quality usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool.
