About OPEN GUARD

Start with an empty mat and a dream, or take the reins of an established academy with a roster and a reputation to defend. Scout talent from a worldwide pool of free agents, sign the fighters who fit your vision, and forge them into competitors. Then test them where it counts: from packed local opens to the bright lights of a world championship. Every signing, every game plan, every gamble is yours to make, and yours to answer for.No two saves are ever the same. Every new game builds an entire grappling world from scratch: 80 gyms spread across the globe, each with its own roster, reputation, and ambitions, and more than 1,500 fighters battling it out across the men's and women's divisions. This world doesn't wait for you. Gyms rise to glory and crumble into obscurity. Fighters break through, build bitter rivalries, suffer injuries, and eventually hang up their belts. The prodigy who storms to world gold in one save might never even be born in the next.Every fight is simulated tick by tick across 41 distinct grappling positions, 34 submissions, and over 130 unique transitions, so no two bouts ever play out the same way. Watch it unfold live with positional illustrations and round-by-round commentary calling the action, or skip straight to the result when the outcome is all you need. Set your fighter's tactics before the first grip is taken and shape the way the battle is fought, but never forget: on the mat, nothing is ever guaranteed. This is the whole sport, not half of it. The full calendar runs both gi and no-gi events under proper rulesets, and the game knows the difference. Gi-only positions and submissions are locked out the moment the gi comes off. Leg lock legality shifts with belt rank and format. With over 400 events a year across six tiers, from scrappy local opens to invitation-only pro championships, there is always another mountain to climb.Every fighter is an individual: 15 attributes, a distinct fighting style, a personality of their own, a signature submission they live and die by, and a career that rises or falls on your coaching. Dial in their training with custom focus allocation. Bring in specialist coaches to sharpen their edges faster. And when you are ready to build something that lasts, open a youth academy and raise the next generation yourself, shaping raw kids from age 7 all the way to graduation at 16. The champion you crown tomorrow might be the child you started developing today.

Love this game, sadly Don't have a ton of time. I only have 70 minutes right now on steam, but I did have about 2-3 hours before it hit steam. Fun management type game. Creator is also adding new features all the time. Also also, join the discord. Dev is always open to tips/suggestions/bug reports/etc, Cant wait to see how good the final game is. Even in early access its a pretty solid game and fun to play. Well worth the price consider other text based management games like WMMA goes for 35 bucks.
