ParryRobot

ParryRobot is, well, I'm putting this down as one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's not actually a student project (technically) because Byking, a console/arcade developer and subsidiary of Square in Japan, make their new hires make and publish a game on Steam. I guess that's better than the hazings people get in some other industries. But that still has the same core problem that student projects do... the primary purpose of this game is not to be a game for gamers. It was made by and for the developers and published here, not for you, the gamer, but for the developers to feel good about themselves. Therefore, as with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions (and also, apparently, professional development studios) should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments. Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students/new hires feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs…

Wonderful parry simulator: clear mechanics and instructions (translated into English too), nice visuals and getting "perfectly timed parry" feels very rewarding.

Great game. Sadly just have one boss but the mechanics are amazing and it does have support for English language.

GO, PARRY ROBOT! It is really fun. Cheers on the game. Hope we will have more levels in the future.
