✦ AI summary
Players praise the straightforward fun concept of flying as a dragon attacking pirate ships at a low price point, along with the developer's responsiveness and future plans for the game. However, the game currently feels incomplete in its alpha stage, with missing features like camera controls for exploration, gamepad support, and a polished interface that make it difficult to fully enjoy despite its solid core gameplay foundation.
it's what it looks like it is in the trailer. you will pay $3 to do strafing runs on pirate ships as a dragon. that's a really easy purchase decision4 found this helpful
Added what I asked for in under 24 hours. Great dev. Fun game. Cheap price. Any further questions? 1.0 release and it doesn't have ANY camera controls? Camera follows when battling which is fine but while exploring you can see anything. It seems like a decent game for the price but it needs a rotating camera for explore mood ASAP. Once that happens I'll recommend.3 found this helpful
Dragons + Pirates whats not to like? This game is just fun. Plain and simple. Flying around as a dragon burning pirate ships while watching a Fleet of your own that you make fight along side you. Plus a really good price! A BIG PLUS! The Dev is super kind and has cool plans for the game! So this isnt even the final stage! Highly Recommend a game if you just want pure fun and not sure what to fill your time with!2 found this helpful
There's a lot here to like and a lot........missing. Game pad controls need to be implemented, interface and presentation needs to be cleaned up for clarity. The game is very much still in an Alpha stage. I hope the dev returns to support the game because the concept and game play are tits. Sadly very difficult to play and enjoy in it's current form.1 found this helpful
Nice, fun little game. Bubblegum for the brain, maybe? Straightforward gameplay, low mental commitment required, great for those times when you just have a few minutes and want to blow something up. Hope to see the studio flesh it out a bit more. It is fun as is, but has the potential to be more.1 found this helpful
Please note this review is for the Alpha build of the game (v2.7) Pirate Dragons is a game with a great foundation, one which I am very excited to see developed further. As it stands you can engage in battles with up to 8 ships (4v4) as well as enemy dragons to contend with. The battles are difficult enough to give you pause and assess each situation before engaging but not so difficult as to be a pain in the hole. Just don't charge a Kraken class ship with your 6 cannon guppy. You can engage in trade and faction relations, as far as I can tell positive relations don't currently have an effect on game play. Negative relations seem to have the relative faction engage you in combat, which is a nice touch. Trading is implemented as each town / port will have different prices for different goods. However I didn't use this feature as I was earning enough money from pillaging fleets, perhaps at a later date trading and faction relations will be more fleshed out. The over world map, in which you navigate from port to port and can choose to engage in battles and random events. Is in my opinion a little too focused in, I felt it was a little hard to get my bearings without constantly h…1 found this helpful
