There is a reason why I'm kinda miffed at the success of Hades even though I'm a big fan (100% both games not to flex hehe) and that reason is PYRE! Pyre is an wonderfully creative game by Supergiant, a dev team that never fails to completely knock it out of the park. More than being a cool game, Pyre is an incredibly rich game as an art piece, and I'm referring to more than just its visuals being fantastic. The world of Pyre is incredibly rich and deep in fascinating bits of lore, the characters that push the campaign forward are all incredibly lively and unique, and they have tons upon tons of beautiful interactions with both each other as well as the player character. Pyre weaves a tapestry of creative ideas, a narrative that is both incredibly emotional and well-thought out, but also leaves a surprising amount of room for each playthrough to be unique. Without going into to spoiler-y details, the events of each player's playthrough can differ extraordinarily, not to mention the enormous ways that the ending can be quite different. Honestly, Pyre does so many cool things as an experience and a story, that the gameplay itself is almost an afterthought, not to say that it's bad bu…
Go sports! In all seriousness, truly an amazing experience. Gameplay is fun and engaging and as challenging as you want it to be. The artstyle is beautiful, characters are great as well as the dialogue. Worth your time and your penny!
It's a Supergiant game, they don't miss. It has probably the most rage inducing gameplay out of their games but it is still incredible. It didn't made me as emotional as Transistor but it was close.
A fantastic game with excellent story telling, character design, and overall quality of development. Very glad I gave this a try after playing Bastion, Transistor and Hades. Sublime!
