What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise Bastion's innovative design, memorable storytelling, and exceptional soundtrack that hold up well over a decade later, with many considering it a masterpiece that influenced countless indie games. However, some find the combat mechanics feel clunky by modern standards and the boss difficulty unfairly punishing, with slow character movement and relentless enemy knockdowns creating frustration rather than engaging challenge.
Worth the money/ 10 Fast, fun, timeless soundtrack
This game is awesome. I really like how the narrator tells the story while you're playing instead of interrupting gameplay with constant cutscenes. it's pretty unique and is really nice to listen to while you play. Also the music is awesome!
A charming game. I immediately recognised supergiant games' mechanics and narrative style that they perfected in Hades. The character movement is a bit difficult to control and I often fell from the edge of the map during combat, but that might just be me The narrator's voice is so charismatic that I'd fully replay the game just to listen to it again, and the music, too.
Amazing game The soundtrack is great and the narrator does a great job with an intriguing story that keeps you playing. Definitely a secret gem of a game
Loved it.
Exceptionally tight as an experience, modestly under written ending but presented well. Worth playing.
