Transistor impresses players with its stunning hand-drawn art design, excellent soundtrack, and engaging ability combinations that offer meaningful strategic depth in combat. However, some find the game's narrative pacing slow to develop, and a few critics feel the experience is primarily a one-time playthrough despite its artistic strengths, while others mention occasional balance issues and navigation confusion.
«Transistor» draws you in from the very first second. There are no introductions or long waits in the main menu. You pick up the Transistor and the game begins. Many things immediately catch your eye: a stunningly drawn cyberpunk world with art design that’s very soft and pleasing to the eye. The visuals aren’t overwhelming, and are undoubtedly the game’s main strength. The design holds up right through to the very end of the game. The game runs at a maximum resolution of 1080p, but it looked good on my 1440p monitor, despite some scaling issues. You can switch the game to full-screen mode via a simple setting in Steam-Game properties (-x 2560 -y 1440). Transistor features a very pleasant soundtrack that suits the cyberpunk genre and draws you right in. It’s not quite on a level with, say, Expedition 33, but it’s on a level with something like Hollow Knight, where a magical soundtrack is needed to complement the delicate visuals and fully immerse you in the game. What’s more, a couple of the tracks feature some lovely vocals. As for the gameplay – things are a bit more complicated here. I can’t exactly call it good. For a game lasting 7 hours, it’s quite unique and enjoyable. I…8 found this helpful

Amazing game. Takes a little while to really get going, but god daym is the amount of ability combinations just insane. And the OST is just brilliant! Got it first for free on EGS, didn't know much about the devs, but after playing simply had to buy it on Steam, defo a must-play!
Absolute masterpiece tho it's the type of game you only really play once
Very boring I'd sit in a corner with bombs for everything and restart if I would get killed. Art looks great, but I'd get lost. Great length, I think more games should be in the 4-8 hour range.
An excellent game where the release date doesn't matter. It is original and entertaining, with a beautiful aesthetic, music, and overall design.
