Quest for Glory 1-5

The VGA version, which is the one we played. I first played Quest for Glory in the early 90s and loved it then, and I'm happy to say it still holds up. It's harder than it seems, with some very specific commands and actions required, but there's something really satisfying about building up your character over time. Playing as a thief is particularly fun, sneaking around town and stealing things from people's houses. A great bit of old-school adventure gaming and a good way to burn a few hours, especially if you have some nostalgia for it.

One of the first RPGs I ever played, and still an all time favorite.

Quest for Glory, this series is a true classic and one of the gems in the old Sierra catalog of classics. This series is a hybrid of RPG and Point and Click Adventure(Well the VGA remake of 1 and then 3, 4 and 5 the original version of 1 aka Hero's Quest and part 2 were text parser driven) So you have set encounters, random encounters, combat, 3 character classes(a 4th one that becomes avalible if you complete certain marks in the second game) and stats that you raise by performing certain tasks. Your 3 main classes are: Fighter, Magic User and Thief and after Trial by Fire the 4th class Paladin which either the Fighter or Magic User can be upgraded too if as I said hit certain marks/ gain enough hidden points in the second game(basically do enough certain good deeds in 2 and you can upgrade to a Paladin starting in 3 on). The class you pick alters how best to approach various puzzles in the games, fighters usually brute force stuff, Mages of course use magic, thieves can sneak, climb and lock pick. You can create hybrids but you can't at least in part 1 really make a good jack of all trades. Since you only get so many bonus points at the start to spend on pumping up your ski…

Great classic point and click adventure, with an unfortunately still fiddly and tedious combat system that will frustrate and discourage some from experiencing this gem fully.

A classic game series with fun story. Making references to popular media before it was cool. Take your character stats between games.

It's classic Sierra. Of course, it'll drive you crazy and you'll need a walk though, but it's gold.
