✦ AI summary

Experience seven legendary point-and-click adventures featuring King Graham, Princess Rosella, and Prince Alexander as they quest across magical lands filled with puzzles, monsters, and danger. This collection celebrates the golden age of Sierra adventure games with the classic gameplay that defined the genre—witty writing, devious puzzles, and stories where every choice matters.

Seven classic games in one collection. Celebrate the golden age of adventure games all over again with the return of King's Quest.
  • The bravest knight in all of Daventry, Sir Graham, is appointed by the dying king to embark on a Quest for the Crown. By retrieving the three treasures of Daventry, he will not only save the land but become its king.
  • Now the ruler of Daventry, King Graham sees a vision of a beautiful woman trapped in a tower. Romancing the Throne won't be easy with mermen and vampires separating him from his imprisoned bride.
  • A young apprentice to an evil wizard must escape his captor or be faced with certain death. Upon the discovery that he is the long-lost son of the royal family, young prince Alexander learns that To Heir is Human.
  • King Graham lies on the brink of death and only a magical fruit from a far off land can heal him. The Perils of Rosella pit evil fairies and fearsome foes against the brave princess as she fights to save her father.
  • Returning home one day to find the castle missing, King Graham must don his famous adventurer's cap once more to find his family. Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder and Graham must learn a little magic of his own to rescue his loved ones from an evil spell.
  • Haunted by the memory of the kidnapped princess who helped his family escape the malevolent wizard Mordack, Alexander learns of a plot to force the beautiful Cassima to marry an evil Vizier. Sworn to protect the woman who saved his life, Alexander takes to the Green Isles in Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow.
  • Rebellious Rosella is content to be The Princeless Bride, but her adventurous spirit may lead to a marriage to the King of the Trolls. With the help of her mother, Queen Valanice, Rosella must end a plot to destroy the land of Eldritch and find her own happy ending.

the series that changed my life forever, true story i was maybe 7 when i saw sir graham standing by that castle on a monitor in the front yard of a yard sale with my grandparents in 85 or 86 it was an IBM PCjr original edition KQ and up till then the only adventures i knew were Pitfall and berserk etc on my atari, i had to have it and i been a true gamer ever since, i will say it is a daventry sized travesty that there are no achievements for this!

The grand-daddy of adventure games. Kings Quest persists as a fun exploratoin into the early days of the adventure game genre, and contains a few actual classics in its publishing history (III, IV, and VI are excellent).

I loved this game soooo much when I was a kid, and when I found it for under $10, I was thrilled. Hopefully I will still have some fun with it, but it's clear from my first few hours trying that this was a cheap attempt by the company to squeeze more dollars out of an old product, without doing absolutely anything to prep it for a modern audience. HUGE example #1. When you attempt to play KQ4, it makes you do a security check by writing a certain word from the KQ4 manual. Which you presumably haven't had in 35 years, if ever...you just bought it on Steam. Did they even LOOK at their product before they put it out there?!? Unreal that something that gaping slipped through. You literally can't play one of the worlds in the package deal. Example #2. I played for a while, and went to save the game. It wants me to identify a folder on my computer to save it to. Um.... There are some very basic things they could have done to update the game so that it's playable on a modern computer. I don't care about the graphics, it's an old game. But it has to be playable. I will try it a little bit more, but may just ask for a refund. Only try this if you are a super diehard fan and willing to p…

These games are all fun and awesome - back in the day, on old hardware. This MAY be just me, on my computer, but this game basically doesn't work. The window is either full screen (which is too big for the resolution of the older games) or it is a tiny window. I could not figure out how to save my game. It wanted me to manually enter dos prompt to specify a file directory to save, but would not work when I did. Biggy screens pop up during/between menus. Maybe there is a way to make this wonderful old game work on modern desktops without compromising all enjoyment. Let me know how. (I requested a refund after 15 minutes)

I wouldn't say I enjoyed playing the games since they felt a bit too fiddly (I find SCUMM or Monkey Island games much comfier) but I did enjoy going through each game with a walkthrough and appreciating the evolution of the series.
