Jump in and descent into the dark, grim world of Rainyday, where superstitious beliefs prevail and the evil of man knows no limits.

✦ AI summary

Players appreciate this indie detective puzzle game for its charming story and engaging mystery elements, with some praising it as a nice little experience worth playing. However, many criticize the minimalist MS Paint-style graphics as unattractive and distracting, the rough non-native English writing, and problematic thematic choices, with some feeling the presentation undermines what could be a solid narrative.

Short puzzle adventure, with minimalist graphic. Achievements 100% / 60min. (With guide) Without guide, MUCH longer.)

There are some things that really need to die in the noire genre if it wants to make it into the present. One of those things that needs to die is the racism. This game didn't do that. Also the graphics are pretty ugly and the story really isn't worth it. I've played free games with more quality in them. Hard pass.

This is a 2D top down puzzle/adventure game where you play a detective and piece together a murder. The game features MS-Paint tier retro pixel graphics. Waddle around an MS Paint fill tool city and interrogate cupboards and people to get all the clues and progress the game. This looks a lot like a high school students video gaming project. The graphics here are just so bad, there's no way for the story to shine though. It's not written by an English native speaker so it's rough. The game engine here is really not good at all, it might have worked out better if RPG Maker was used, and while that might be constructive input, it's also well known that RPG Maker games are uniformly terrible. I appreciate from some of the other reviews that the developer here is a sole indie dev trying to enter the gaming industry, but we don't get thumbs up for "trying", and we certainly don't get to charge people $4.50 for "trying".
