My ears were blown not even 10 seconds in while changing the volume. Map, UI and dialogue bugging is a common occurrence, very shallow story, very short overall, asking $10 for 1 hour of clicking with no substance at all is insane, underdeveloped, visuals are okay, the thunderstorm SFX is a 5 second looped audio, so it's very obvious and becomes really tiring, overall not polished and I can't really recommend this not even at sale price.14 found this helpful
You may be thinking, how does a visually distinct game with anthropomorphic animals living in a model society where there is an interesting blend of primary colour to help make the noir atmosphere pop out cleverly? How could that get a bad score? Bugging, that's all I'm gonna say. The tagline doesn't lie, this is an 'experimental' game. Very pricey despite offering; confusing plot direction, translation issues, troublesome UI, broken achievements and weird quests (like buying a donut for you to give to a cop so they'll allow you to go past them to a crime scene to go see a dead body). I could go on and go on about the bugs, but what's the fun in discussing them when the developer releases a game in the state it's in for £10? I'm more in disagreement about how much it costs than how disarray the final project is. Even when you may be tempted to buy it as I just realised I'm posting this review when it is at 90% discount. Just don't, I'm sure there are one or 2 playable games you can buy. There's no point for me to waste any more of your time talking about these problems but you be my guest. Like I said there are a lot of issues but there are a few neat ideas that I wish were poli…5 found this helpful
I couldn't finish the game because there are so many bugs that won't let me make a progress. For example, it didn't add objects from characters to my inventory, which kept me from getting to the next level. When I was still at the beginning of the story I had to start the game all over to avoid a bug, but far into the story I couldn't do that anymore so I couldn't move forward because another bug interfered.2 found this helpful
I'm so disappointed, I was really looking forward to this game but it's so buggy it's unplayable. I've tried starting again so many times and uninstalling and installing again but I can't get past the a certain puzzle because it's not giving me the item. It's not worth the money in this state.1 found this helpful
I can't recommend this, even though I haven't even finished this game due to bugs that prevent me from finishing the game. As many have said here, I want to like it. It seems to have an interesting world and style. But the puzzle design and lack of polish really hurt the experience. For the puzzles, things will just appear and you have to just click on everything in order to progress, that is if the puzzles actually work. Or at times things just are not explained well and you have to just try whatever possible solution you have available. I do like the aesthetic of having the crime board red string kind of guide you, but in execution, it's a mess. It just clutters up puzzle that already feel like they make no sense. Narratively, it feels a little scattered as well. For example, the game tries to joke that it's a game in order to progress, but it feels so against itself. It's trying to have a serious Noir detective theme while also having characters say basically, I'm a puzzle, don't think about it too much. Then you have talking billboards that give you items to progress. So it's like, what is this, a satire or am I missing something? It could speak to the mental state of the main…
I say yes, were it not for the bugs, this game's vision and style are so strong that it would become a fast indie favourite. Things to improve: make the dialogue text reveal itself at a faster rate, and maybe consider doing WASD for movement, because clicking or holding seems to always overshoot where you want to stop! I would love for the dev to revisit this game because it had legs!
