About Regions of Ruin: Runegate

All that remains of the once-glorious dwarven civilization is dust, scattered exiles, and monster-infested landscapes. Embark on an explorative RPG hack-and-slash adventure as a lone dwarf attempting to re-establish a haven for your dwarven kin - and delve into the mysteries of their forebears.
The former land of the dwarves is as diverse as it is vast, filled with rich veins of resources, loyal allies and fearsome foes. Journey through lush environments, treacherous weather, glowing crystal-filled caverns and more in your pursuits for riches and information. And be prepared to carve your path through relentless enemies, hell-bent on sending the last of the dwarves into extinction.
On your travels, you will encounter dwarven allies in need of assistance. Come to their aid, enlist their help and create a safe haven for your people by rebuilding a civilization. By gathering resources and meeting skilled adventurers, you will be able to unlock new facilities and technologies, furthering your pursuits. Shape your dwarven hero from their appearance to their preferred style of fighting, through a range of weapons, gear and skill trees for you to explore and experiment with. Approach each encounter as you deem best: Dive straight into the fray with a spear in hand or sneak up close and stab a goblin in the back. Just remember - stay vigilant while fighting, for enemies will adapt to your actions.

A surprising little gem of a game. It has its ups and downs and definitely feels rough in some aspects - but for the most part it's a solid and excellent game that definitely has a lot of potential, especially if a co-op/multiplayer is ever added. There's a lot to do, and for a little town-builder game with a good hack-and-slash feel, I do enjoy it a lot. It doesn't really have a complex gameplay loop, but I really don't think that's required for the game to still feel enjoyable. The game does have some odd pacing and can feel weirdly very easy, and then suddenly have a jump in difficulty. If you like Dwarf-stuff when it comes to video games, I definitely recommend giving it a shot.

I think I saw this first on a SkillUp PToYR segment a while ago, but I only just this week got around to actually playing it. I'm totally charmed by it! The premise is a great setup for a game like this, the world map exploration is excellent, the small character stories are charming and well written, and the music and overall presentation is beautiful. Nothing in it is anything a lot of folks haven't seen before, but it all gels together pretty well into a neat, tight little package. It's been a great game to dip into when I've got no big multiplayer games or other obligations going on, and I find myself sinking more time into each session than I ever intend (which seems like a good sign)! The ONLY quibble I have with it so far is the itemization is kinda' generic feeling? The items you find often feel pretty incremental (if not entirely the same). I don't care that much about loot progression, anyway, so this is mostly just an observation for me personally, but I know some folks care a lot about that sorta' thing.

It is UNFAIR that this game have so few players and reviews. Personally for me it is a hidden gem. My expectations were far less that i've got. Game just feels so aesthetically pleasing while preserving interesting gameplay, exploring and situations. It gave me so many wonderfull moments and memories that i shared with my friends Pluses: + Great visual style and effects + Nice music + Decent combat and world building + Interesting quests + Great work with worldmap and sense of exploring + DWARFS Minuses: - By default game have 3 levels of difficulty. I picked middle one out of habit. And it's truly a joke, armorless 10 goblins need to hit you 2,5 minutes to kill, and you even not resisting, by the way game have blocking, dodges and parrying. Needed to start the game from the beginning and lost 4 hours of progress just because you cannot change difficulty on fly. On 3 level it was good till the endgame where no one can do any serious damage to me or my party. I advice anyone starting to play from the beginning on 3 difficulty - It feels like slow degradation of content and it's queality at the endgame. I believe i upgraded all i can in my hub before second world. So the…
