About Resolutiion
An old killer escorts a curious AI through chaotic combat, puzzling secrets, and unsettling calm in a dreamscape of madmen and sane animals.
Resolutiion is a fast-paced action-adventure created by two angry German brothers leading a band of vagrants who loaded it with lovely pixels, dirty jokes, deep ideas and badassemotional tunes for 20 hours of punishing combat, rewarding exploration, and layered storytelling. Will you be the player or will you be played? In the Infinite Empire nothing is as it seems.

Explore a fractured future, gathering weird weapons and stories, to piece together the past: a friend betrayed, a family broken, worlds at war.
To solve the mystery of the Cradles take on a multi-cultural-mashup of cynical gods, emotional machines, zealots, luddites, and furry critters in a world that doesn’t care if it confuses or kills you — oh hey, a kitty!

This game is pretty cool. It looks like Hyper Light Drifter, but plays more like classic Zelda. The difficulty is just right. The exploration is excellent; the game does not restrict you significantly, you choose where to go. There are different abilities you unlock as you progress, which adds variety to the gameplay. Also, the story is fairly deep, and isn't clearly explained; it's something you have to piece together (or look up on the now-archived wiki, which has a surprising amount of lore). Ultimately, I wish this game had been more successful, as it seems like the devs had big plans for the universe they created.3 found this helpful
Budget HLD. Audio is....sharp? It just sounds pretty bad. Graphically it's fairly nice but the combat is boring and the non-stop dialog by your companion is really distracting. Hard pass.1 found this helpful
Resolutiion is an excellent indie game with a striking pixel art style and an atmospheric, mysterious world that pulled me in right away. The visuals are vibrant and a little odd in the best way, and the soundtrack really complements the surreal vibe. I enjoyed exploring the world — it's full of strange tech and interesting looking characters. While I personally would've liked a bit more narrative clarity, that may have clashed with the cryptic narrative approach chosen. I did get stuck in one area for a while, which was a bit frustrating circling around the map, but overall, it didn’t take away what I enjoyed about the game. It’s clear a lot of love went into this. If you enjoy artful, slightly abstract indie games with style and substance, Resolutiion is absolutely worth your time.1 found this helpful
Yeah, honestly ready to drop this game not even 20 minutes in. I was willing to give it a chance like I try to do with most things, however the game feel of this is just bad. Basic movement is a little sluggish, your combo has a weird recoil to it that can wind up pushing you back away from enemies or objects. You combo can also be automated by holding the button down which feels like an oversight more than anything. I found a gun which feels clunky and weak. The first actual enemies of the game are annoying to fight because they take advantage of their greater mobility to rush at you or back away from you at high speed. The map is one of the worst maps I've ever seen in my life. It provides no useful information whatsoever. The mystery is completely uncompelling based on the opening and cryptic dialogue. You may or may not be a boy turned into a robot who may or may not be looking for a girl. There's apparently an empire and a terrorist cell that the empire is trying to take out. I'm not hooked. Looking at other reviews, this game doesn't seem to get any better, and frankly at this point it only seems to be a worse version of Hyper Light Drifter which was already dwarfed by UNSI…
The art is a weak imitation of Hyper Light Drifter and the story is empire / terrorist techno BS. However, the gameplay is uniquely bad. Sure, its clunky and artificial, but the worst aspect, by far, is how respawning works. Rather than have regular checkpoints, there are occasional respawn points, but dying doesn't reset the enemies - meaning the only thing that will ever happen in a harder section is that you will kill a few more every time you die and then have to run back to repeat the process. I cannot emphasize this enough - this game has somehow the worst death / respawn system possible. This is not to mention the bugs and oversights I encountered in even my short playtime. Believe the negative reviews. This game likely not worth your time and certainly not worth your money.
Resolutiion, no the name’s not a typo, it’s clever wordplay, I think! Resolutiion is an action-adventure videogame with enough neon pinks and 90s synth music to satisfy any indie gamer. The 16-bit style graphics and color saturation remind me of Hyper Light Drifter, but you'll hear that a lot. Monolith of Minds has borrowed some aesthetics from their competitors but there's enough here to make it unique. Unfortunately, the story is a bit cliche. A robot named Valor has lost its memory and has to retrace its steps with the help of a sympathetic AI named Alibii who is trying to patch into the Cradle Network. Yes, plenty of techno-babble to keep any sci-fi fan happy. The only hint you get to Valor’s past is a cut scene at the beginning of the game where Valor is transformed into, well Valor! The story doesn’t give much away. Snippets of narrative are delivered to you by Alibii and various NPCs which are sprinkled throughout the game. Resolutiion: Look & Feel You wander past monolithic skyscrapers, lofty walkways, and pixel-scapes of neon pinks and blues as you descend from Cloud City where the color scheme is slightly more orangey-beige. In the desert of Giants, there’s a …
