A clever RPG where the bugs are the mechanics. RETRYS is a story-driven puzzle RPG that feels like a nostalgic throwback to NES-era JRPGs like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy, with the quirky charm of EarthBound. Instead of fighting enemies, you solve puzzles by using “game bugs,” such as sprite scaling, asset manipulation, and other glitches, to overcome obstacles. It is clever, meta, and surprisingly satisfying. The art style is charming, mixing 8-bit RPG visuals with realistic illustrations for a funny, unique contrast. If you enjoy short, story-driven indie RPGs, experimental ideas, or games that blend humor and melancholy, this one is worth checking out. Sometimes fixing a broken game world feels a little like fixing parts of ourselves. It is a unique indie RPG that experiments with gameplay in ways I have not seen before.
