RhythmSlinger

Definitely a good future to this game, it does come with a bunch of different pistols and themes. Also this game definitely feels procedurally generated in that the 'beatspheres' respond to the type of music played or at least the bpm of the song. I got some different pop songs off youtube to play with this game and enjoyed the pacing of the beats. The tricks definitely take some time getting used to with the different pistols, I've found the western (orange) pistols to be the easiest in setting up for the trickshots. I was playing this game in easy mode and getting the timing right on the white trickshot spheres was the most difficult because they last longer than the other beatspheres, but I'm guessing that it allows you extra time to perform the trick. I play on the htc vive btw and I found the shooting angle off at first but I quickly adjusted to the game. In the future I would maybe like to see a slider to change the shooting angle. I like that I can use my own library of music and that I don't need anyone to make beatmaps for my music, pretty neat.

It has promise but the controls for tricks are pretty tough. For example theres a white sphere that appears for only 0.5s and doing a trick to shoot it can take longer than this. Doing in my mind same movement with hand didn't always correspond to same heigh or duration of the trick and sometimes it just didn't activate on index knuckles.

'RhythmSlinger' is a music shooting rhythm game that gets it all wrong from the very start. At the end of the day, successful games in this genre like Pistol Whip and Beat Saber were not made by multimillion-pound companies, and neither of those games mentioned had amazing graphics. But what they did have is playability and fun. 'RhythmSlinger' is none of those things and it gets the very fundamentals of this genre wrong. The beat mapping is non-existent, neither are the songs because you are supposed to play your own with only 1 soundtrack to play in-game. I get that this is cheap, but it is also complicated to play and no fun at all. I did kind of like the small range of guns on offer, but that is no reason for me to recommend this. It really needs to go back to the drawing board and be made a lot more playable than it currently is.
