About Robonauts
The beloved game that was originally released only for the Nintendo Switch console is coming to PC gamers now! Learn the story of Robo and help him save the galaxy, alone or together with family and friends.
Welcome interplanetary traveler!
In a nutshell, Robonauts is that arcade game which includes 12 levels. Each level will challenge you. You will explore a universe which consists nearly 50 planets, facing Bosses and creatures and meeting powerful opponents bent on universal destruction.
Who will you be (literally)?
Robo is a little robot whose curiosity got the better of him and led to his sudden exit from the confines of his safe environment. Now little Robo is far from home, fighting for his life against a constant barrage of enemies.
When developing Robonauts, we chose to give Robo human traits based on our own emotional experience. Robo acts like you and I, and we sense his emotions when has to choose between sides in a battle, trying to figure out who the good guys are. Once you get to know him, it’s hard not to love Robo.
Universe!
While the game is very dynamic, you get to choose your tempo of gameplay. A lot of troubles await you on every planet. We have tried to fill Robo’s universe with enough graphically various worlds that everyone who plays can find a unique favorite to which they can return. The graphics in this game are truly spellbinding. And the color scheme makes the game enjoyable for both kids and the kid inside every adult who remembers what it was like to spend a day in the arcade.
We really wanted to recreate the experience of the best arcade games from our childhood, so to pass a level, you have to jump between mesmerizing planets and destroy every opponent that stands in your way. Really, there are no words to adequately describe the Robonaut universe.
Music - the best for last
Game soundtrack composer, Simon Viklund. Yes the same Simon Viklund who worked on PAYDAY series and Bionic Commando Rearmed!!! His music exemplifies the very essence of Robonauts – dynamic, retro, arcade-style, energizing. What Simon has created is not only music for our game, but also the perfect soundtrack to your life - if you're just like us, that is.
FEATURES:
- great for the whole family,
- solo and local co-op
- local versus mode
- 12 unique planetary systems,
- large variety of weapons and enemies,
- explosive art style and graphics,
- epic music composed by Simon Viklund,
- easy-to-learn yet challenging gameplay,
- 2 difficulty settings: casual and hard.

Robonauts is a console ported low poly physics based platformer with a simple gimmick (that's been done dozens of times before), instead of flat platforms you jump between different "planets" each with their own gravity well, so instead of running left and right on static platforms, you run around the circumference of various circles. What an incredible innovation, surely this will revive the old, dead platformer genre. Oh wait, it didn't. The game also features a "shooter" component as you pick up a power armour that lets you shoot things. Yeah robots wear power armour now, whatever. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contempora…7 found this helpful
Game is great... For a mobile game, not great for a PC game. There is very little information available on the screen for what items you are looting, and everything is auto target, there is no way to disable this. Game is also too easy, brainless in a way, 10 minutes in, and I stopped caring.5 found this helpful

Robonauts is a visually stunning arcade like game that is in my opinion very underrated. I see people commenting on the difficulty of this game and I agree, some levels are very hard, it exponentially gets harder, but that’s the whole point of arcade games. You’re supposed to die quite a lot. The music in Robonauts is banging and really helps tie everything together. I like that there’s a lot of variety within the twelve levels this game has, as well as a hard mode and mission ranks. However, this game is not perfect. You cannot manually aim, the game aims for you, and I can see why some people would not like that. The story in this game does not really matter, which is a shame, but it is better than without one at all. Some enemies are not balanced very well. The eye monster that shoots a lot of bullets at once can two or three shot you and if you don’t see it coming, you’re pretty much dead. Also, the flying enemies that try to home in on you spawn more quickly than you can get rid of. I’d say that if they implement a few balance changes, a leaderboard, and Steam cloud save, Robonauts would be a banging game. I still recommend playing through it, maybe even with a friend, since i…1 found this helpful
Robonauts, developed by QubicGames and published on PC by Untold Tales alongside QubicGames, is a fast-paced arcade shooter that combines run-and-gun combat with gravity-defying platforming across miniature planets. Originally released on consoles before arriving on Steam, the game positions itself as a colorful homage to classic arcade shooters while introducing a spherical level structure that gives its action a distinct spatial twist. The central premise follows Robo, a small but determined robot thrust into a galactic conflict against alien forces. Rather than navigating flat stages, players leap between tiny, circular planets suspended in space. Each level consists of multiple connected planetoids populated by waves of enemies, and progression depends on clearing these threats to unlock portals to new areas. The gravity mechanic is central to the experience; when Robo jumps, he adheres to the surface of whichever planet he lands on, forcing players to constantly adjust orientation and spatial awareness. This design adds verticality and movement variety, preventing the action from feeling strictly horizontal. Combat mechanics are straightforward and accessible. Robo is equipp…
Played a bit on Switch and picked up here. I want to play more later when I find time.
