About ROKO'S BASILISK

"We have no idea what you'll find there, but we need to prevent the Basilisk from being completed. Over."

You find yourself in a utopian setting, immersed in the matrix of an omnipotent AI that holds all knowledge and wisdom. There is no clarity as to how you got here, but a mission looms before you.

This is a variable-time mental experience. The suggestion that this could cause disturbances is unsettling, so it is more comfortable to pretend that it is just a game.

If you are not ready, it is strongly advised that you do not start the experience. The knowledge we acquire is an irrevocable force, capable of shaping destinies and exploring the unknown.

Features:
  • Short duration walking simulator (15-30 minutes)
  • Dystopian setting with retro aesthetic, creating a unique visual and atmospheric blend
  • Psychological horror elements that explore the Roko's Basilisk, a thought experiment that suggests that knowing about its existence could lead to our destruction

    ✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the game's clever exploration of the Roko's Basilisk thought experiment and its atmospheric audio design, though some feel it works better as a conceptual piece than an actual game. The main criticism is that the gameplay itself is repetitive and poorly executed—repeatedly traversing the same maze with minimal progression or unclear mechanics becomes tedious, and many find the actual gameplay fails to match the intriguing premise.

The Basilisk is good. The Basilisk is friend. Give in to the Basilisk.

Boring game where you traverse the same labyrinth 13 times just for nothing happening except a few lines of monolgue.

This is a great way to introduce people to this mind game. Even though I think people already know what the Roko Basilisk thought experiment is. I love how the audio portrays the mindset of the game.

I guess for <$2 I should recommend this game. LOL. It almost reminds me of a very primitive version of The Stanley Parable. But, I can't figure out how to contribute. The first few round I used the RHand rule to find my way through the maze to the Basilisk. But "destroy" is the only option that I can see. How do I contribute? If you just keep going enough rounds do the options change? idk, but after a bit I started to feel nauseous (happens to me sometimes when I game) and had to quit.

Absolutely pointless and not worth your time. You just walk for 2 minutes until you find NOTHING. Do yourself a favor: leave the store page, forget this title exists and do not research anything about it.

The concept of getting stuck in an infinite loop trying to escape the AI's realm while trying to complete an objective all while on the clock sounds really fun but the execution of this is just bad. Don't buy it
