I give it a recommendation, but I also think it can improve by doing a couple things to make the experience a bit more enjoyable. For reference, I've beaten the game twice, on both medium and hard difficulty. This was after some initial patches the developer released. The things I enjoyed -It is extremely stylish, love the user of color and the presentation is great. -Fully voice acted, enjoyed the voicework (though hearing 'Mama' so many times may get grating depending on if you fail.) -The bosses all have their own unique fights, nice to mix up the general cadence of things -All the weapons work well, had fun doing weapon cycling and specials mixed in with some of the bigger fights and encounters. -Worked great on Steam Deck, no performance weirdness or anything. -Developer appears to be pretty responsive to feedback and has made some great quality of life changes in response to users on the forums. The things I didn't care for -Cutscene skipping should be available at all times. Sometimes it seemed to work, others it only worked after dying at least once. I just beat Rose And Locket and really ended up enjoying this game more than I ever thought I would! I'm not a big fan of this style of game but what honestly drew me into even wanting to play it was the art style. I thought it was an incredibly beautifully made game. I loved how creative the scenes were, where it at times felt like walking through a comic book. The fights, while more difficult later on, were so well done that it never felt unfair! Even though I was playing on easy mode it was still challenging!! I also loved Rose's character design, she was so cool. Really cannot emphasize enough how awesome the art of this game is. Great job here Whistling Wizard, y'all knocked it out of the park!! I hope y'all give this game a chance and consider wishlisting it and buying it yourself. If someone like me who doesn't like this style can play it and enjoy myself then I know more people could feel that way. Really hidden gem of a game.1 found this helpful

Cool game. Incredibly creative visuals and boss fights. Gameplay feels satisfying and challenging enough on hard difficulty. Some parts were a little frustrating. Game is a little short but doesn't drag on so probably buy on sale.1 found this helpful
There's so much passion in it! Very cool artstyle and tight dialogues. I like the straight forward story and its relatable topics. Using the back buttons on my controller instead of the face buttons helped me being able to aim all the time
