[後半に日本語レビューあり]
A Legitimate Sequel 30 Years in the Making: Belt-Scroll Action Reborn
Thirty years after Jaleco's SFC-era fighting action, this belt-scroll action game carries on its legitimate lineage. In a city that once overcame catastrophe at the hands of a crime syndicate and a deadly virus, a new threat tied to the mastermind behind those past events surfaces, and six fighters bound by their own histories - led by an MMA-trained protagonist, alongside pro wrestlers and a ninjutsu practitioner - rise to the challenge. The story occupies the position of a "missing piece" set between the second and third entries of the series, letting players who know the earlier games feel the dots connect all the more. Across nine stages, side missions and branching developments keep it from being a simple straight line. The game's highlight is the depth of its cancel system, hidden behind a beginner-friendly auto-combo. Nearly every action can be canceled via a dash or jump, opening up fighting-game-style juggles and aerial strings. Combo construction that weaves in weapon attacks, along with fine-grained counters and follow-up strikes, is also on offer, making for a design that rewa…14 found this helpful
I was a big fan of the original games on the SNES, along with Jaleco’s arcade game 64th Street, so I was really excited for this. When it launched, I saw a lot of negative reviews, but after playing it myself, I honestly don’t get the criticism. There’s a great lineup of characters from the series, the gameplay is smooth and I wanted to jump straight back in after finishing it for the first time. It’s packed with things fans of the older games will appreciate. There are familiar stages, a Tuff E Enough food van and even some remixed Rival Turf music. This is a fantastic game that brings back a great series with style!3 found this helpful
The game is listed as Steam Deck Verified, however it won't accept controller inputs. There are a few topics on this in the discussion board, but not responses from the developer or fixes supplied.2 found this helpful
I remember importing the original for the Super Famicom back in the early 90s (I had clipped off the tabs in the cartridge slot in my SNES so it could play Super Famicom games). Anyway... the original was pretty fun. I liked it almost as much as I like Final Fight. For that fact alone, I saw this pop up on Steam and thought "why not". Unfortunately, this new game has incredibly cheap enemies who will try and get you caught in a "knocked down" loop until you die. It can be a bit frustrating at times to escape out of it, especially when there are tons of enemies on the screen. Another issue is the incredibly annoying voices. Luckily you can turn those off, which is a blessing. There are also times when it is unclear on what exactly you need to do at certain times. The devs should have spent a bit more time polishing this game up before releasing it. NOTE: As of writing this post, it shows that my playtime is 13 hours. I had just purchased the game last night and played for about an hour. I then decided to leave it on PAUSE and went to bed... so unfortunately, it is past the 2 hour refund window. At least the game was cheap enough for me to go "oh well". In closing, maybe if I play…
TL;DR: A Fun Beat Em Up That lacks in many ways but overall is solid and fun but if bought cheap is totally worth it This Game isn't half bad Its solid beat em up with a good base that being its solid gameplay and characters which has allot issues some of those issues being visuals arent that good, there someone weird gameplay quirks like hitting enemies feels hard at times cause of game being fully in 3d or just weird hit detection in general Cause of this i would not recommend for those looking for next streets of rage 4 (which this game doesn't compete with) but if your looking for cheap and nice playing beat em up this is great option I bought this game for around 492Php (for USD is around 8 dollars) which for me this is totally is worth it and fun
Didn't even know this game came out, but worth the time if you like beat em ups.
