inconsistent systems make a great looking game awful to play. the tutorials are bad or non existent. example starter Q: bring 25 wine from A to B. get to A, buy 8 wine (the max for your little ship), go to B. cant deliver needs 25 at once. adjust cargo space (after googling how to do that), max space is 12. cannot complete Q, FAIL correct answer? go to A, go to the tavern for Q and the game temporarily and magically adjusts the ship size to 25 and gives you the Q items, then you can go to A and deliver this. WIN ? there is no marker making you go to the tavern and the game just explained to you how to buy goods so this is what you think you are supposed to do. very obtuse. also the quests at the start of the game send you very far away with no money making it hard to get back in time with enough supply/money.

Having played the Andrew questline most of the day today, here is my impressions so far. The art and music is good. The actual native language dialogue spoken by the NPCs in the various ports is also a very nice touch. I feel like there are a lot of cool things to find, and interesting (if somewhat cliche) quests to complete. However, I am finding the combat incredibly wonky and tedious. The controls are akin to the old Uncharted Waters Online where you basically dogfight in the water and hope to aim your guns and fire while trying to control the ship that never seems to want to go the way you want it to go. Five minutes later, you have to find a shipyard, fix your ships NOT to maximum, recruit more crew, treat them to a round of drinks, and head right back out again. And why do I have to do so much combat? Because it's the only way to make money in the early game near as I can tell. I can make 20K from the easiest bounties, or make a few hundred from doing trades. And I HAVE to do bounties because when a ship sinks you have to go and buy a new one, and the Caravels cost 30K each to replace. So basically having to do bounties constantly to keep my funds afloat.
