Wanted dark souls like combat. Has it for about half the game. Stops being about combat and more about platforming challenges in the latter half. Which would be fine if not for the fact that some of the challenges are centered around trial and error dying until one of your guesses reveal the path forward. Boss enemies later on get rolled right through on the first try. It's no exaggeration to say about 80% of my deaths came from platforming. Second half of the game feels less like "Dark Souls" and more like "I wanna be the guy". But, it still hooked me for a lot longer than other games like this. So mild recommend.
While this game is a well made soulsborne game it is a bad metroidvania, I've played better
Very good game, pretty much a 2d souls like (most like DS1 combat-wise I'd say), can only recommend.
