Capture the spirit of a dead witch before she claims another victim! Summer camp has always been about good memories and new experiences. But the children at one particular camp never expected to be terrorized by a murderous ghost! When a mother hires your services as a private investigator to find her missing child, all you know is campers have been disappearing faster than you can say "Rise and shine!"
After you arrive at the camp, you see a black cat morph into a spectral figure, but you still don't know the full nature of what you're facing. However, as you search the ghoulish grounds for clues, solve puzzles designed to stop you dead in your tracks and open doors that reveal bone-chilling new locations, you'll draw ever closer to the horrifying truth. You'll also come to realize there's hope for the missing kids as long as you overcome your fears and press on. While it worked, this game doesn't even have the excuse of decent puzzles or a really dumb but fun plot to get me to recommend it. The game boots up, doesn't stutter, and has puzzles, but to what end? It's just such a nothing experience. I guess it's under 5 bucks, so that might be motivation to try it, especially if you get this in a bundle with some other games you actually want, if it's on sale (I originally bought it for under a dollar, which was about right for how much I got out of it), if you need a quick influx of steam achievements, or if you're recovering from having your wisdom teeth removed, and need a game that doesn't expect much out of you, because the plot ,music, characters, and setting are cobbled together out of old refrigerator boxes and the gameplay isn't too far behind.1 found this helpful
Shtriga's only problem - it is content to sit in mediocrity. Everything about it can be described as ok. The puzzles are ok. The story is ok. The graphics are ok. The sound is ok (although there are no voiceovers). I mean, I guess I can stretch to find a few positives... they don't make you replay the gain to get achievements... the puzzles are pretty straightforward and nothing out to lunch. There is no map, so you do tend to wander to find what to do next, but you never have to wander far, and nothing based on difficulty level, so if you play on casual, it is easy to blunder on to the next thing that needs to be done. All in all, if you want an ok experience, play Shtriga. 5 out of 10 shapeshifting old ladies.
its OK, there isn't a map but most of the items you need are in a close area to the end, you basically finish an few scenes and move on (but can go back if you want) I needed to find a couple of things on a walkthrough. art was Ok. atmosphere I liked. wasn't fussed about the story. puzzles were ok.
There's a bug that stops you in your tracks in the first bit. I had to restart from the beginning to get that to work, but could complete it after that. Get it on deep discount. Not amazing, but not terrible.
Meh, it's okay. Sure doesn't have the style & polish of the newer games, kinda skimps on features too (no collectables, etc). Still finished the game though, so it wasn't that bad overall.
